More than two dozen Long Beach restaurants and cafes are offering lunch discounts for Car-Free Fridays and Lunch Breaks for Cyclists on Friday, April 2.

The program launched last summer is designed to get more people to leave their cars at home and consider the benefits of riding a bicycle or using another form of alternate transportation.

Cyclists need only mention the promotion and show proof of ridership in the form of their helmet or bicycle lock key to take advantage of the discounts, which is good from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Visit www.bikelongbeach.org for a list of participating eateries. Want to participate? Contact Courtney Aguirre, Transportation Programs Planner, at courtney.aguirre@longbeach.gov or 562-570-6667.
