Roan Carneiro d. Tony DeSouza via TKO
Dean Lister d. Jordan Radev via decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Manny Gamburyan d. Nate Mohr via submission
James Irvin d. Luiz Cane via disqualification

Main card results
Lightweights -- Rich Clementi (38-12-1) vs. Melvin Guilliard (39-8-3): There's some obvious bad blood between these guys as Guillard entered the Octagon and promptly flipped Clementi the double-bird and dropped an "F-U" for added effect. ... Good action ends as Clementi finishes Guillard with seconds left in the first round with a rear-naked choke. ... Good fight.

Light heavyweights -- Lyoto Michida (12-0) vs. Rameau Sokodjou (4-2): Slow round, which favored Michida. Most of the first round took place on the ground, which favored the Brazilian. I'm thoroughly convinced that if Michida was near Jessica Alba, she'd look ugly (go ahead, take a few moments to think about what I mean ... yep, you got it). ... Michida ends it with an arm triangle with about a minute left in the round. Sokodjou was completely dominated and looked gassed right before the end of the fight. The Curse of the Pride Newcomers continues.

Heavyweights -- Soa Palelei (8-2) vs. Eddie Sanchez (10-1): Decent action, but I gotta be honest here, I can't name more than two people -- the two fighters themselves -- who can't wait for this fight to end so we can get to one of the two main events. ... Sanchez wins by TKO. Good performance by the big guy, who began 2007 as the sacrificial lamb to Mirko Cro Cop. Ironic that Sanchez's year ends much better than the big Croatian's.

Light heavyweights -- Chuck Liddell (21-5) vs. Wanderlei Silva (31-8-1): I'm picking Silva to win, but I have to admit, Liddell's lack of a beer gut is making think the San Luis Obispo native is gonna win. ... Entertaining first round with each man landing some good punches. Liddell landed the better combinations, though and should win the round on the judges' scorecards. ... Wow, very exciting round. Silva seemed to control the first half of the round, but then things turned into a brawl the last 2:50 of the frame. Both men are cut, with Silva's being worse. Hard to tell who the judges will give it to. I'd give it to Liddell since he ended stronger. I hope to see a definitive ending and not a decision to this fight. ... Very good round for Liddell. He appeared to have Silva close to being finished midway through the round, but Silva was able to hang on. Liddell made a smart decision of backing off, rather than punching himself out and giving Silva a chance to knock him out because he was gassed. Good fight that would've been better six years ago. The Las Vegas fans got one more glimpse of the old Chuck Liddell. ... Liddell wins 29-28, 30-27, 30-27.

Welterweight title fight -- Georges St. Pierre (14-2) vs. Matt Hughes (43-5): First round goes to St. Pierre, who just looks too strong for Hughes. Matt Hughes dominated the division because he overpowered people on the ground. He can't do that to St. Pierre. Still, it was a better Matt Hughes than his last fight with St. Pierre. ... St. Pierre wins with a sick, sick, sick armbar. I thought Hughes' arm was going to snap in two. Dominant performance by St. Pierre, who is just a horrible matchup for Hughes. My UFC fantasy would be to see GSP gain seven pounds and Anderson Silva lose eight pounds and meet at 177 pounds because, for my money, they're the two best fighters in the sport, pound-for-pound.

A solid night of action, saved by the last two fights.
