Pocket aces

Check out this story from the Associated Press.

How crazy is this? A couple of friends ace the same hole on back-to-back swings.

I'd take that kind of luck to Vegas ASAP.

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Two swings, two aces — two balls in the same cup.

Moments after Thomas Brady scored a hole-in-one, Dennis Gerhart stepped to the tee and matched it at Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township.
"I've never heard of that happening anywhere in the world," Jim Woods, director of golf at the club, said Thursday, a day after the dual aces were recorded on the club's Banks Course. "Two balls on the same hole in the same group is pretty impressive."

Knollwood record

Mike Low tied a course-record 63 recently at Knowlwood GC. Pole, an assistant pro at Knollwood, had 10 birdies, including holes 6-12. He ties Darren Angel and Lee Swinehart, who've also shot 63 there.
Eddie Pole, a friend of Low's, called in the course record and reports that after making a 15-foot putt to birdie No. 18, Low threw his club high in the air.
Pole said he was with PGA Tour pro David Berganio when he set the record with a 60 at Porter Valley CC in 2004.
Maybe I should invite Pole to play sometime!

Callaway's cover girl

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria is now the lead ambassador for the Callaway Golf Foundation. Who knows if Longoria can even play golf, but who cares? The ads are designed to raise awareness for ovarian cancer.
In one ad, Longoria is resting her hands on an FTi driver. Maybe Phil Mickelson can show her how to hit the Callaway driver sometime.
The Callaway Golf Foundation donated $1 million to the Entertainment Industry's Foundation Women's Cancer programs. Go Callaway!
