Hangliding not allowed at U.S. Open

Normally, there’s always hangliders hovering over the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines, but you won’t see that at the U.S. Open here. The air space over Torrey Pines has been closed for the week, meaning there’s one less distraction. Of course, the event is sold out at 42,500 fans per day, and undoubtedly most of them will try to follow Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson as they are in the same pairing for the first two rounds.
