First-round AT&T leader Joey Sindelar, a native of Horseheads, N.Y., intently watched Syracuse's six-overtime victory against No. 3 UConn in the Big East Conference men's basketball tournament Thursday night.

In 1976, an 18-year-old Sindelar teamed with Mike Hulbert, another Champions Tour player, to defeat newly appointed Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim and his partner to win the Country Club of Ithaca best-ball tournament.
"I can't wait to call Boeheim and talk about (Thursday's) game," Sindelar said.
