LACC to host 2017 Walker Cup

FAR HILLS, N.J. (AP)-- The Los Angeles Country Club has been selected by the
USGA to host the 2017 Walker Cup.
The competition will be held on the North Course, which opened in 1921.
The event will be the third USGA event at the club. The 1930 U.S. Women's Amateur
and the 1954 U.S. Junior Amateur were also held on the course originally designed by
W. Herbert Fowler.
The only Walker Cup to be held in California was in 1981 at CypressZZPT
Point.
The biennial amateur competition is being played this week at Merion Golf Club in
Ardmore, Pa.
