         <description><![CDATA[<p>Anthony Kim (who grew up in Studio City), John Merrick (UCLA) and Kevin Stadler (USC) all shot first-round 70s today to move into a tie for ninth place after the first round of the PLAYERS championship. Kim just won his first PGA Tour event at the Wachovia Championship on Sunday.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Tiger is off crutches</title>
         <description><![CDATA[<p>Tiger Woods is off crutches following knee surgery. He said in his newsletter, which came out today, that he's not sure how long he'll be out. He said doctors are telling him he can play sometime in four to six weeks, which still makes the U.S. Open (June 12-15) a possibility.<br />
