The City of Los Angeles Department of City Planning will host a training event from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, to help people learn how to use the various informational systems available to them on the Internet.

The training session will be held in Room 1B of the Marvin Bradue Building, 6262 Van Nuys Blvd., Van Nuys.

The purpose of this is to train the public so they can contribute to the planning process. Some topics covered will be:

  • How to use Zoning Information and Map Access System (ZIMAS) to view property information and make maps, reports, and mailing labels

  • Using the neighborhood council Web site to view community plans, historic preservation resources, planning entitlement process, hearings, meetings and agendas

  • Downloading departmental forms for the public's development projects

For more information, e-mail the City of L.A. Department of City Planning at zimas@lacity.org or call at (323) 978-1393.
