The Reseda Theater renovation project is moving ahead finally and the Reseda Neighborhood Council is pleased to see it, according to its latest newsletter.
The inside has been stripped to the bare walls, leaving the impression of a large swimming pool with a sloped floor, the newsletter states. Also, asbestos removal has been completed.
The projected time frame, according to the newsletter, is to remove the existing billboard in late September or early October, followed by removal of the roof and facade. Construction is expected to start in November.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2009 or early 2010.
According to the Reseda Neighborhood Council's Web site, the results are in for a street repair poll requested by L.A. Councilman Dennis Zine.
Streets on the list are:
19300-19700 blocks of Kittridge Street
6800-6900 blocks of Calvin Avenue
17700-18000 blocks of Valerio Street
17700 block of Stagg Street
18100-18400 blocks of Valerio Street
7200-7500 blocks of Newcastle Avenue
7400 block of Balcom Avenue
7600 block of Hesperia Avenue
7400-7500 blocks of Nestle Avenue
The Reseda Neighborhood Council has been asked by L.A. Councilman Dennis Zine to identify the worst streets in Reseda so pressure can be put on the city to get them repaired.
Almost 100 blocks have been identified as sorely needing repair. However, only 10 of those blocks have been identified by multiple people. Do your part and identify for streets that you think are the worst.
