Jack vs. Canada
Should be an interesting night for Jack Johnson in Vancouver. He's not exactly a favorite in Canada after an elbow he delvered on Steve Downie during the World Junior Championships, a hit that many north of the border think was dirty. I'll attach a clip of the hit so you can judge for yourself.
It wouldn't be surprising if Johnson got roundly booed tonight, and he seemed prepared for it.
``It will be fun,'' Johnson said. ``Hopefully they haven't forgotten about me. I kind of get a kick out of it. It's kind of funny to have 20,000 people yelling that you suck. I'd rather be remembered as a guy they hate than be forgotten.''

Boy, Downie sure did sell that dive...JJs elbow didn't make contact, just swung right on through and SD hits the dirt like he was shot. You'd think the Canadians would be embarassed instead of outraged...
Thanks for the clip. Looked like a cheap shot to me. I did notice, though, that Downie took his stick to the back of JJ's legs twice on the way down the ice.
Hey Rich-
Assuming that you didn't make this (or many) road trip(s) because the LA media doesn't think it justifies the expense, I am curious to know your take on your inability to follow the team over the course of the season.
Do you see a time when LA will allow its beat reporters to attend road games again?

Sneaky Canadians...
That was a dive. No question. If he made contact with the elbow there is no way downie would have fallen forward. Canadiens should be embarrased.
