Live from the draft party

The restaurant/bar where they’re having the party — The Highlands in Hollywood — is a really nice place and quite large. I’ve only gotten lost once so far, and it’s a little warm downstairs so we’re tucked away in the makeshift media room upstairs.

A couple non-draft items: the new jerseys are in the room, and you’ll all be relieved to know that there are no major changes. In fact, the only real change I notice is the removal of the colored stripe at the bottom of the jerseys. The “Los Angeles” is still there, but the color is gone. Other than that, it’s just a change in fabric.

Also, Nick Nickson is in the room and is doing well. He said he’s not quite at 100 percent but he’s out and around, so that’s a good sign.

What??? Why not trade down if you’re going to pick a freakin’ 2nd rounder? Crazy….

this is a f*****ing joke…. In his first season in Seattle Thomas was selected The T-Birds Rookie of the Year. He played in 69 regular season games and had one goal and a team high 27 assists. Thomas had a six-game assist streak from March 11 to March 19. He also scored a season high of three points in the October 8 games against Portland. During the playoffs Hickey played in all seven playoff games and netted a goal and three assists. He ended the season with a plus/minus rating of plus-2 score and had 53 penalty minutes. During the holidays, Thomas played for Team Pacific at the U-17 World Championships in Regina, Saskatchewan. He was selected a first team All-Star after having leading all defensemen in the tournament with eight assists.

It sounds like he tried to trade down. When he was interviewed, he didn’t sound particularly happy with the way things turned out.

Why!!!why!!! Why not Alzner then? Big defenseman who can handle the puck, Kings problem is burying the puck in the net and goaltending keeping it out, Our defensive core seems to be pretty good and with Johnson and Lubo young also. 40 years in the rebuilding stage hey guys WAKE UP Anaheim been there twice and won it once!!! Do you know the crap we hear from the Duck fans now. No matter what happens they’ll always say”We won it first” and thats a slap in true Kings face. Hey I know, THE LOS ANGELES DUCKS OF ANAHEIM
