Rich, why the contrast in statements from Lombardi. He said he would be aggressive in your blog and now in other articles he says no. Whats the real deal?

Rich Hammond said:

I haven't read anything in which Lombardi said he won't go after FAs. He said he won't overspend, and he's been consistent about that. People have a tendency to over-interpret things.

Ernest said:

Glad yer here Rich! I keep hearing the Kings getting both Drury and Briere. This sounds like media nonsense. I cant see the Kings going to cap hell by signing these guys then a defenseman which is a higher priority.

Glad the day is here so I can stop hearing silly rumors!

Hope that the Thornton $7.2 extension makes the Briere/Gomez/Drury asking price a little more reasonable, say the $6 million range?

Darren said:

I just don't see them spending 6 mil+ on any of the FAs THIS season. Look at some of the second tier guys like Nylander and Walz as possibilities. Not going to be as exciting as most of us think this FA signing period will be. Just a hunch.

Ernest said:

They are definately going after the big boys. Lombardi did last year also. Whether they wanna come to LA is another question. Keeping my fingers crossed.
