Today's schedule
Things are switched up a bit today at the prospects camp. There were drills this morning and the players will be split up into two teams (to prepare for Wednesday's scrimmage). The first group practices from 2:30-3:30 p.m. and the second group from 3:45-5 p.m. I'll be out there to grab some more interviews, hopefully from guys such as Boyle, Lewis, Purcell, Zeiler and Harrold.

Rich Hammond has covered the Kings, on a full-time or part-time basis, since the 2000-01 season. He was the beat writer for the entire John Torchetti era and has witnessed Bob Miller singing country music in a Nashville honky-tonk bar. A native of Los Angeles, Rich has worked at the Daily News since 1999 and also serves as the paper's deputy sports editor. E-mail Rich at

I personally can't wait to read what Boyle and Z-UNIT have to say.
hey rich, have u heard anything about who is gonna be the next captain of the Kings?
32 P
I think in everybody's mind there is only one obvious choice for captain. We all know who that is. Alternates will be interesting. I doubt they will take the 'A' away from Thortnon. Miller is gone so there is an opening for another Alternate.
C - Rob Blake
A- Scott Thortnon
A- Mike Cammalleri
A - Michael Handzus
Rich,
I love the energy that Zeiler brings to this team. What are his chances of making the team out of camp? I have to say that
I am not really thrilled about Sully's additude, after reading his interview. It seems to me that he is under the impression that he has already secured his spot on the roster. What was his demeaner during the interview and did you get the impression that he is maturing more after last year?
Any insight you could provide would be welcomed, thanks.
It's gonna be Blake, has to be.
