Visnovksy signs
Lubomir Visnovsky has signed a five-year extension with the Kings. I'll have more information later, and possibly an interview as well.

Deano is the man! This is what I'm talking about!
Awesome news!!! Our D looks very solid for years to come. Now need to get Cammy signed..
BTW, anys know who is #51 at the development camp, was there this morning and he looked great, think it was Moller, but not 100% sure.
Woo hoo! Good day for the Kings! Hope it was equally good for Visnovsky!
Remember to ask him about that "communist style" comment he made about Crawford!
hell yes! thanks rich!
This is fantastic news! Thanks Rich for continuing to provide such excellent press coverage for the Los Angeles Kings.
In the immortal words of Chunk:
THANK GOD!
Way to go everyone! Lubo has his cheddah!
Very, very good news.
Excellent work Deano.
thanks rich... good to know we've got him locked up, especially since he would definitely have gotten a very nice deal elsewhere. glad we have nagy and handzus...
This is simply great! Glad Dean is serious about locking up some of our younger stars. Next comes Cammy!
This is terrific news--signing a selfless, hard-working and gritty (for his size) player for the long-term. Thanks so much, Rich, for all the fantastic coverage every day. You and Spector are my daily hits. I hope your editors have been reading your blog, especially the range of insightful comments by hockey-wise fans (Kings fans are best), and also the representation across the country and in Canada. Through you, the Daily News has gone international. Awesome stuff.
What great news!!! Hope Cammy can be locked up soon as well. For the first time I am actually excited about the direction this team is going. Sorry DL for ever doubting you.
Great news for the kings. Now we just have to get cammy locked up long termed. cant wait to september and the games in london. Kings also open up the season home againts the blues on saturday oct 6th.
YES!!! That's the best news! I was hoping he would get a 5 year extention.
very very good news........
one left to go now !
WOW.
Unbelievable news.
This is great news! Now Cammi.
Thanks Rich! I hope it was reasonably priced.
Off the topic, but the Crosby signing sure made the Briere, Drury, and Gomez signings WAY overpriced.
YEAH! GREAT NEWS! I guess Handzuss & Nagy outweighed the "communist" coaching of Crawford!
Rich, can you try and find out if the first two games on the season will be televised? I'm a bit worried that they won't be, since they are in London and all. Then again, if it's the only two games in the league, maybe they show on OLN?
Awesome awesome news. Anything under 6.5 million a year will make this an absolute perfect signing. The length is just right, which I believe will make him 37ish when it's up.
Awesome news. Thanks Rich.
awesome. I like everything thats happening. Great to be a Kings fan.
Rich,
So glad that this is now done, one down, one to go...speaking of which....Any word on Cammi? Is he a key to the puzzle that DL is building. I was wondering are they are talking about a long term contract or are they waiting for the ruling from arbitration? Since he did file for abritration can they still talk about a contract up to the ruling?
One last question, I hear a lot of talk about us making a pitch for a goalie, namely Emery, is there any truth to this? I really hope not, I think Labs deserves a shot and to take that a way would really suck for him. He is our best choice as of now IMO. I do not think we need to give up any thing for a goalie, we have plenty in the system.
Thanks for you time and all the work you put into this site, it makes the off season a little more tolerable.
If you happen to get an interview can you please ask what he thinks of the new Slovak additions to the team and how much that influenced his descision to sign an extension?
Thanks ^_^
Certainly means I don't have to hold my breath waiting for Thomas Hickey to prove that he was or wasn't worthy of being picked 4th ;)
SWEET!!!! Best news of the summer!
Great news!! Lubo is well worth it.
Great news.
Hopefully, he will be paired
(or at least tried in a pairing) with BRAD STUART.
Nice defensive combo witheverything you need, IMO-- size/speed& mobility/puck skills/experience.
LUBO/STUART could be the closest thing we've got to a "1st pair".
HUGE signing.
