$3.1 and $3.6 million

That's $3.1 million next season and $3.6 million in '08-'09 for Cammalleri. Those are the numbers I have, and I have them from a very good source who is confident that they are correct.

There's a conference call with Lombardi scheduled in about 30 minutes.

Wow. Wonder if that'll make him more likely to sign long-term sooner to try to get more money.

** Update: $3.35 mil cap hit over two years. Numbers just posted by Rich Hammond of the Daily News who has THE best Kings' blog around at insidesocal.com/kings. Clearly it's a great deal for Lombardi and the Kings. I'll have more later tonight **"

I wonder how pissed Mike might be feeling right about now, and if so, how this might impact a future re-signing.

Wow! Just Wow!

That's great, hopefully this puts an end to all the BS trade rumors about Cammy.

24diving said:

Wow! I'm really glad the arbitrator used his head in making this decision. It's actually a little lower than I thought it would be due to the stupid contracts that were given by other teams. It seems like a fair raise which almost doubles what he was making. I wish my husband would get a raise almost doubling what he's making and he's worked a lot more than two years on the job.

Mike said:

Since when are we so goodfortuned? This is like an early X-mas present. Cammalleri is probly pissed!

Rich,

Nice job reporting, thanks for keeping us more current than any other media venue possible. Very solid job we are lucky to have you here in LA.

Great news, really helps the Kings cap...I appreciate all that you do Rich. This is the best site for up to date Kings info by far!

lblocal said:

Now that's value! And a relief...

Still funny (SAD) to think that the Kings paid Roenick over $5M two seasons ago.. for 9G,13A,22PTS.

Paincorp said:

Very palatable. Reasonable even.

Make Cammi prove himself to be 'consistent' this year and then pound him with a sweet 4 year extension next year. Don't even let the 2nd year start with out locking him up for 5. You can do a lot of building around Fro, Cammi and Lubo for a 3 year stretch.

Cammi gets a decent raise, Deano still has bank to play with, everyone wins. If Deano does the extension early like I mentioned, it should finally prove to Cammi the Kings really believe in him and put any distrust behind.

Thanks Rich, once again. If you ever change the style of this blog...THEN it'll be pitchforks and such. This blog ain't broke, so don't EVER fix it.

The arbitrator is a Kings fan!

(or he didn't want to see him traded to a Canadian team)

LOL

GREAT win for the Kings!

Wow, I guess more players will go the offer-sheet route now...

Looks like Dean's strategy worked, in not knocking Cammy and saying waht was wrong with him as a player but rather dicussing the system and how it is backwards, well played Dean, well played.

"I think $3.65 mil. would be fair for both sides"

Looks like I was being generous by tossing in an additional 50K, HA!

Who knows their stuff?
Me, Rich Hammond and Bob Miller's Hair,
Thats who!!!
YES!
Glad thats over, now I wanna hear some quotes from the press conference call.

Great job again Rich!!!

Rich Hammond rocks.

Good deal for the Kings.

Cammy will still be able to afford premium beer with his pizza.

Erik said:

Wow. Not as much as I expected...but it probably makes a trade involving Cam all the more likely. We'll see.

mazokngstc said:

Much kudos, Rich, and a great deal for the Kings.DL stuck to his guns and it seems to have paid out.
If my math & assumptions are close, the total 23-man team cap hit (including Cloutier) is around $49M, leaving about $1M in reserve. Not too bad considering the rebuild and the contracts signed over the summer.

Eklund says..

"8:58: Cammalleri
If the numbers being reported are correct, 3.1 and 3.6 for Cammalleri is a steal...Rich Hammond of the Daily News is a good source and a great LA blogger, but I am hearing there is something that we don't yet know about this deal....There is a reason that it is not being reported yet by TSN, Sportsnet, or myself...May be nothing, but there is a reason that a story this size is being held back for a bitr longer...."

Discuss.....

kingfletch said:

weird they had it posted on lakings.com that he signed 2 years, then they took it off.

Mike said:

Mr. Hammond,

I just want you to know how much I appreciate your hard work on this blog. In no time, you've become an essential king fan resource.

Keep it up!

Wouldn't get too jazzed yet folks, like the guy said, it was posted on LAKINGS.co and then removed. Don't like the sound of that. Maybe you do still smell a trade????

and that's not a good thing!

No One said:

Wow. I was wrong, gladly!!!!

Hey Rich,

Come on.. Any goodies from the conference call, or has it not started yet????

No One

kingfletch said:

its back up on lakings.com, not sure what is going on.

Josh said:

It's still on LAKINGS.COM

Just checked.

Joe said:

are you guys thinking about what you're saying? The Kings just got a great player for a bargain price. Why on earth would they trade him? What could you possibly get that is better than a great player at a great price? The only answer is an even better player, for the same or lower price. Good luck making that deal.

Bryan said:

Unbelievable how you can turn taking it down from lakings.com for a few minutes into a trade....WOW!!

Looks like Rich is getting some love from all over the place. This is from Kukla's Korner:

"Rich Hammond at Inside the Kings has been doing a great job following this ruling and will be releasing the numbers soon. If they are correct, the ruling came in lower than people expected.

added 8:46pm, per Rich Hammond,

$3.1 million next season and $3.6 million in ‘08-’09 for Cammalleri. Those are the numbers I have, and I have them from a very good source who is confident that they are correct."

It's good to know that us Kings fans aren't the only ones who appreciate your work, Rich.

Keep it up!

So does this mean if Atlanta offered to do Hossa of Cammi straight up you wouldn't do it?

Just askin....

should have hit preview... said:

Hossa FOR Cammi, not Hossa OF Cammi....

Jon said:

This is comming out of left field, but we got some slovaks for Lubo why not a Russian for Fro. It might help him to have someone that can push him to that next level, and im thinking another Russian could be the answer. What do all of you think?

Jon--
I agree iwas actually on the cheriponov bandwagon
