``Contacted Tuesday, Gillis had no comment on the decision.''

Someone needs a new agent!
No Kidding. I think his agent maybe more upset than Cammy is.
I'm sure his agent is, what percentage does he get?
In other words "We disagree with the arbitrators decision and are extremely disappointed" (while thinking to himself "I hope I don't lose a valuable client who will be raking in the big bucks soon because we over-reached in this arbitration.")
yup, Cammi should be more mad at his agent than at the ore-gan-eye-zay-shun.
For those interested in Cammi's reaction, KNX 1070AM in LA had a quick interview with Cammi. He was basically quoted as saying: 'I'm very happy to be going back to LA. I had to pack all my shirts to go back. I'm in Toronto for the summer and I get to leave my winter clothes here. I'm looking forward to going back and not being in the snow. I prefer the beach anyway, you know?'.
That's not verbatim, but it's basically what he said. His demeanor sounded very upbeat, not like his teeth were grinding while he was forcing a good attitude at all. Seemed very positive. His response was pretty laid back. Sounds like Cammi is just fine and should be all business when camp hits.
I was a bit surprised that KNX did a minute+ spot on their sports segment about Cammi. Infact, he was their feature item! Do you know anyone over there Rich??? You would NEVER hear a segment like this from that cracker Bret Lewis at KFWB.....
Anyway...just thought people might want to hear it. Rich, maybe you can get a transcript from them so you can post the verbatim conversation here???

being a hockey fan in LA is real tough. It's hard enough cuz the only hockey talk i come in contact with is when i'm driving and listening to XM Radio, so your blog is such a breath of fresh air.

His contract will not count against the cap next season.
It wouldn't have had counted anyway, since he didn't sign the contract after he was 35. The Kings were probably going to assign him to Manchester at the start of the season.
What the Kings could do now is assign him to Manchester early in camp. Once Oleg fails to report (after clearing waivers), they can start the process of unconditionally releasing him per Paragraph 14 (b) of the Standard Player Contract.
Once Oleg fails to report, the Kings will have to waive him again for the purposes of an Unconditional Release. Once he clear waivers again, he is released.
Not salary, no cap hit, no contract to count against the 50 SPC maximum.
Paincorp, Was it Randy Kerdoon's sports segment on KNX? If so, there's a podcast for it that comes out every day.

No, it was the guy with the over-the-top, trying to hard to be a sportscaster voice. I don't know his name, but you'd know it by the description above. It was on at about 4:15-4:30pm Tuesday.
