Injury updates
Alexander Frolov and Michael Cammalleri both have mild groin strains. Frolov will be kept out of action for a week but is expected to be back for the season opener. Cammalleri is expected to play Saturday in Las Vegas. Frolov got hurt at the end of the final practice in El Segundo while Cammalleri got hurt early in Tuesday's exhibition game as he took a slap shot.
More later from Crawford about Boyle, the goaltenders and the penalty kill.

Jill Painter joined the Daily News in 2000 and during the last eight years she's covered the Dodgers, Cal State Northridge, UCLA, Kings, golf and everything in between. Even though she's from Colorado, she still freezes in the Staples Center press box but always manages to thaw her fingers in time to make deadline. E-mail Jill at

Darn. I wouldn't play them in any of the remaining games as a precaution. Why take a chance on reaggravating it by playing in some pointless games? Just let them rest for the next 9 days.
Don;t meant to get off topic. But just when it looked like we were going to be taken seriously......It's the return of Kingston!! sorta....

forget to stretch.
Thanks for the updates Rich.
As Alex stated, I see no reason in playing either one of them until the start of the season.
In my opinion this is a bad mistake on Crows part, and I am starting to think that Crawford is NOT the man for the job with the Kings. I think that the hiring of Lewis could be more than what the Kings are saying about it. This is just a thought, but I can't help but feel that Lewis is here to learn the system that DL wants to employ on the team, and since Crow was that kind of coach he was hired. Now I see Lewis coming in this season and learning from Crow what DL wants and then Crow will be out the door at the end of this season, if not sooner! He and DC can go and take there love affair to another team for all I care.
Play Bernier and send Cloutier to Reading or the ECHL, maybe he will miraculously find is game there.
This is exactly the kind of news that's painful to hear. I'm trying to stay positive... "we won't have the most man-games lost to injury, we won't have the most man-games lost to injury!"
Here we go again!
