Roster cuts

Cliche, Lewis, Moulson, Parse, Piskula and Purcell are headed to Manchester.

With the removal of those first two guys, the battle for that fourth-line center spot is down to Brady Murray vs. Jeff Giuliano. John Zeiler has put in some time at center but it would be a stretch to include him there.

The Kings are down to 33 players, and I would expect to see a couple more cuts tonight or tomorrow, most likely after tonight's game.

Damn, I like Piskula. We could assume the roster is even less than 31 since Hickey, Bagnall, and 1 goalie will be gone. The burning question is -- which goalie? We'll see if Crawford and DL have the cajones to send Cloutier down to Manchester? He is, after all, the weakest of the three goalies and I think the writing will be on the wall after tonights game.

CORRECTION:

33 players.

4 goalies.

I was hoping Moulson gets a shot. Not enough space up with the big boys though!

Where do you see Simmonds fitting in? I'd love to see a 4th line of Thornot-Murray-Simmonds, with Ivannans filling in from time to time. I think Murray and Simmonds have more heart, and skill the Willsie, and much more skill the Zieler, or Giuliano

Thanks for the update Rich. I love knowing who is presently on the team. It would be very cool to have a regularly updated roster page on this blog! And I mean throughout the whole season. And an injury list as well (god i hope we don't get another "most man days lost" award this season).

When was the last time that you can remember, we have so many players battling for spots. Some of the cuts expected, but there were a lot of difficult choices made.

I like the way our team is evolving.
