Andy Murray quotes
On change at goalie: ``(Emmanuel Legace's) knee tightened up on him a little bit. He’s fine but we felt he couldn’t go anymore. So that’s what prompted it. It wasn't a genius coaching move or anything.''
On Brady:
``I noticed him a couple times on a couple of face offs. I know he won a big face off for them after an icing call. We put a good line out and he won a big draw there for them. I saw him out there a few times. But I was so focused on who I was going to put out next that it was tough.''
``He’s played against men for a couple years now and I think that’s to his advantage. He’s obviously, for the most part, a skilled offensive player but they’ve asked him to be that fourth-line center. That was the position that was open on the team this year, so he’s worked hard at doing that and I thought he was pretty solid at that part for them tonight.''
On giving Brady advice: ``He’s a smart young guy and a quiet guy. He would ask their coaches before he asked me. We talk and discuss things after games. If he asked, I’d tell him. But he’s his own player and I’m probably one of the quieter hockey parents around.''
On beating the Kings: ``They’re my second favorite team in the National Hockey League. We need the points badly so I don’t get any special feeling after beating the kings. They were my second favorite team last year and now they have even more reason to be my second favorite team. But it’s not close between my favorite and my second favorite, put it that way.''

Andy is the classiest guy in the NHL!
Here is a good question for someone.
Our BEST line in the pre-season was Armstrong, Calder, and Willsie.
Now that Frolov is back that line hasn't played together once.
Shouldn't Crawford try to get these guys reunited?
We should have never gotten rid of Andy. For some reason players play hard for this guy. He could take an AHL team and compete in the NHL. (Which he did with the Kings a few years back) We miss you Andy, and good luck with my second favorite team.
Great seeing you behind the bench last night Andy, albeit for the wrong team but non the less great seeing you behind the bench at Staples doing what you do best, coaching hockey.
Great job, Matt....just an FYI - it's "Manny" Legace, not "Emmanuel."
I could'nt agree more ... Andy's critics while he was here said that he had the team play "playoff style" hockey during the regular season (as if that were a bad thing) ... um.. yeah... that's how teams SHOULD play..each game likes its the playoffs ... us season ticket holders and regular ticket buyers alike deserve no less!
And yes...St Louis is my second favorite team too... and yes they are'nt close..put it that way!
For all those who leave comments for Andy Murray, he probably does actually see them. I talked to him after last night's game and he indicated that he reads this blog...I'm guessing as a way to keep track of Brady a bit. Andy has always been one of the most accessible coaches around and I know he appreciates the fans' support.
He is watch more than just Brady, His Daughter is dating Jack Johnson. So he is having to like us no matter what.
Could you imagine his face if both Matt Damon oops Brady and JMFJ call him Dad after they score a goal against there team.
Fletch,
What do you think "Manny" is short for?

How much playoff and Stanley Cup experience do we have just between Crawford and Lewis behind the bench? I like Andy Murray as much as the next guy, but there is a very good reason why he doesn't coach this team anymore. Some of you have very short term memories. They don't get classier or more of a gentleman than him. However, for this hockey team, I like our staff.
As critical as I am of Crawford, I have seen the wise use of Kopitar and Cammy and I keep my fingers crossed that he knows what he's doing with O'Sullivan and Johnson.
To Brandon - Yes, I am aware of that but when was the last time you heard anyone in the hockey world refer to him as "Emmanuel Legace." My guess (and I would be right on this) is "never."
It's constructive criticism....lighten up.
Pop quiz - When was the last time the Kings were in the playoffs? Who was coaching?
Question 2- How many times did Andy Murray lead the Kings into the playoffs?
Now, realistically, how many times do you honestly believe Crow will take the Kings to the playoffs?
I rest my case.
The official NHL game sheets have a bunch of oddball quirks like Emmanuel Legace.
My favorite is then-Flyer, now Islander defenseman Freddy Meyer, who is listed as Freddy Meyer IV, which prompted Nick Nickson to once say Meyeriv (My-AIR-iv) on the air when announcing out of town goal scorers.
That's a good one Marc, but my favorite is still Robert Blake. I'm surprised that the Kings would risk the PR hit by signing an accused murderer.
