Blake gets part in movie
ESPN's Scott Burnside had an interesting note from London alongside his column on Jonathan Bernier. He says Rob Blake was stopping off in Toronto on the way home to Los Angeles today to film a small role in ``The Love Guru,'' a movie written by and co-starring hockey fanatic Mike Myers of Austin Powers fame. Blake apparently plays a Kings defenseman who is on the ice when the Stanley Cup is won. Kings fans can only dream. The movie also stars Jessica Alba, Justin Timberlake and Ben Kingsley. I'll try to talk to Blake about how it went on Wednesday. Here's the espn note.

Who is getting sent down?
Willsie had a good preseason and should start over Zeiler. I wasnt really impressed with anything Zeiler did over in London. I did like the energy Brady Murray brought so would like to see him stay in the line up.
Kings Rank 24th out of 30 teams on TSN.CA NHL Power Rankings.
Pretty lame rankings. Panthers at 15?? That must be mostly because of Vokoun and former King Olli.
Calgary 8th? and the Wild 7th? A lot of stock being put into to teams with good goaltending. I guess thats what they, TSN, think makes a solid Power Ranking. If the Kings had solid goaltending I wonder where that would have put them?
I read somewhere that in the Mike Myers' movie, the Maple Leafs win the Cup but they play the Kings in the Finals. Sorry I don't have a link.
Wow, guess Mike Meyers is still bitter about 1993.
So Blake is going to particpate in a movie depicting the Kings as losers to the Leafs? That's just sad. Nice thing for the team captain to portray. Is he trying to follow in Roenick's footsteps in Hollywood?
May be he is truly acting and playing the part of an NHL defenseman?
i was watching the toronto at detroit game over the weekend and they said bob probert has a small part in the movie also.
Seitz, Mike Meyers isn't the only one bitter about 1993.
