Blake the movie star

Here's some quotes from Blake on his movie role as promised. Again, the movie is ``The Love Guru,'' a film written by and co-starring Mike Myers. According to The Internet Movie Database, Myers plays a self-help guru employed by an NHL player (played by Romany Malco) after the player's career goes on the skids because of romantic troubles. His wife left him for a rival athlete, played by Justin Timberlake. Jessica Alba is in the movie, so perhaps she plays the unfaithful wife. Or it could be Meagan Good. Release is scheduled for June 20, 2008.

``I'm just in a couple of little scenes, a cameo at the end,'' Blake said. ``It was a long day, though. It's funny, for such a little scene, it takes all day to set things up and do the different takes. I had a couple of lines. I'm not sure what will stay in the movie, but it will be interesting to see when it comes out.''

Blake plays himself. He's on the ice when the Kings lose to the Toronto Maple Leafs, Myers' favorite team, in the Stanley Cup finals. Blake said he didn't mind playing the losing role for the movie.

``When you see how the goal goes in, you'll know why I had no reservations because that will not happen in our league,'' Blake said. ``You know (Myers') movies, like Austin Powers. That's the type of movie this is.''

Blake said this would be his only foray into acting. When he returned from the filming in Toronto, all the Kings players had the same question: Did he meet Jessica Alba?

``That's what all the guys want to know here,'' Blake said. ``She wasn't there. Justin Timberlake was there. He plays a goalie and did a pretty good job. Verne Troyer (Mini Me of Austin Powers fame) was there and so was Mike Myers.''

Is this flick based in 1993? As far as I remember the Kings never lost to the Leafs in the Cup finals (for obvious reasons)or the Conference finals
