Crawford quote

Crawford, to the Associated Press, on the Kings' nine-game losing streak to Dallas...

``We've got to change that,'' Crawford said of the recent disparity between the teams. ``There's no magic formula. We have to execute better. We had three giveaways and they all ended up in the back of our net, which isn't characteristic of our club. ... Tonight the big story was Turco. We had way more great chances. He was the difference-maker for them.''

NO! THE KINGS PLAY WAS THE DIFFERENCE-MAKER FOR THEM!!

He says its not typical of kings hockey. i don't really know what to say to that. the way its been lately it had the Blake/Modry signature on it. Turco did play well, but three guys (Brown,Kopitar,Cammalleri) are not going to make a difference if the rest of the new signings don't play the way they should. Calder, Frolov, and O'Sullivan showed a lot of promise though, so maybe they can get those guys on a line together.

Like i said, bernier.

Still blaming others for his ineptness.
In his diluted mind, he thinks he's a descent coach.

You have got to be kidding me! Did Crawford and I watch the same game?

Pathetic.

Anthony, you need counseling.

"Tonight the big story was Turco."
What's up with the excuse? When you're being outshot and down by 4 after two periods of play, the excuse isn't the other team's goaltender. The fault should be on the team and their coaches.

I don't like Crawford's response at all to this loss. He needs to start taking some blame.

the difference was Turco???

was i watching a different game?

man, i feel like he just kicked me in the nuts...

anyone else think it's weird that he scratched Preissing before Modry or Blake?

i don't mind the boys dropping some games finding themselves... but the lack of effort these past 3 games is painful to watch.

Tonight. was the same old story. really. It seems like only half of the players are stepping it up and the others are scared of losing their position on the team. They dont take chances. I really dont know how to explain it.. they need to play with more balls

I'm calling manchester... We got a bunch of young guys raring to go, why not start the integrating the youngsters into the line-up. The free agents that were signed over the summer were to help out with teaching them how to win. I want to see them develope into an energetic team from the blueline out.

Those idiots in the front office should have hired Ted Noland when they had the chance!

Crawford?? LOL

chuck said:

Turco was the difference maker? Who is our difference maker? That's the problem.

Army said:

Our difference maker was on the bench as a backup!!! The coach is not the problem, the lines are not the problem. These MEN are professionals and need to play and act like it. Unfortunately, some of them just might not be good enough to make a difference this year.

taz42 said:

I believe it is a coaching problem. Constant line changes does not give this team a chance to jel. Bad decision on who he's putting with who.

Mark said:

These players are SOFT Period

They can be decent players in a beer league.......but not in this NHL.

SOFT!

KingsFan78 said:

I'd agree with the soft comment. Mentally soft, physically soft, emotionally soft. At least if the Kings showed up in one of those categories, you could take something away from these games. But they can't make a pass, they play erratically, they're weak on the puck both in the offensive and defensive zones.

I'd love to be able to blame London, the only problem being that they haven't been able to clear their own zone, and have been very bad when it counts on special teams, for many years.

Please see my comments in the previous 2 threads. Crow is not our coach. I see too many bad things like this quote popping up. I agree with M...take some responsibility for the loss.

Rob said:

Soft is right. Did Brown forget how to hit? I'd like to see O'Sullivan get some scoring opportunities. Definitely JMFJ's best game. Cammi was strong. And I thought Nagy gave a decent effort. It would be nice to see him get a goal, then maybe things will start rollin'.

Oz said:

Not to harp on it but the inconsistancy in the line combinations I think is one of the big problems. I agree with that. If you want to tinker with combos occasionally fine but to do it from shift to shift is ridiculous. Maybe Crow needs to realize he's got a bona fide replacement head coach on his staff and start making better choices.

You know for all the hatred here...Turco really did have an awesome game. go watch the highlights of him robbing at least 3 goals.

Dont get me wrong, Im just as mad as you all are but great game to Turco.

Dan H. said:

Army, Bernier isn't going to score you 4 goals to make the difference. You can cut that tired line out. Is he better, yes, but with this team in front of him he's not going to do much better.

I thought Crawford's comment was a backhanded slap at Labarberra though.

last night's lackluster effort is the type that gets a coach fired

Moondoggie said:

Turco did have a good game but he really wasn't challenged until the 3rd, by then it was all over. To say the Kings ran into a hot goaltender and that's the reason why the Kings lost is irresponsible. Crow must start taking responsibility for this team's lack of effort. Why scrach Preissing and Brady? Has anyone seen Blake and Modry play (or not) lately?

Russ said:

Moondoggie, Preissing was not scratched, read the following quote from the LA Times: One unexpected change came on defense. Kevin Dallman replaced Tom Preissing, who started feeling ill in the afternoon. "He's got a little bit of flu-like dizziness, so we held him out," Crawford said.

Moondoggie said:

Russ...Oops! I missed the pre-game...couldn't figure out why Preissing wasn't in. He had looked good the first couple of games and had been consistant. Still having a hard time understanding what they see in Modry.....
