Down to 23 players
Jean-Sebastien Aubin will soon officially be on injured reserve with a strained groin, which will get the Kings down to 23 players before Wednesday's deadline. That, of course, leaves Jonathan Bernier and Jason LaBarbera as the two goalies.

I guess we have our answer, he will stay
Well this proves nothing... Injured Reserve doesn't mean anything at this point, he won't be there all season. Everyone knew Bernier would be staying longer and burning u his 9 games at least. They can still send him down and take Aubin off injured reserve. All this tells us is that Labarb and Bernier are going head to head for the next several or so games for the starting position.
I wish I could claim I strained my groin during practice or performance (real injury or not) and get my full salary too. :-) Injured reserve sounds kinda fun. At least at the L.A. level. You get paid for hanging around.
Good, now if they can think of way of getting rid of Zeiler too, we're in business.
Uh, correct me if I'm wrong, but often a "strained groin" means a goaltender is out for most if not all of the season - and oftentimes needs surgery to correct the problem? The groin is the most used muscle for an NHL netminder when he slides from side to side around the crease, trying to be quick to the puck - is this Cloutier all over again??? Or is this just a roster maneuver? Rich, can you get someone on the Kings to comment on this?
I think that would be a bit extreme. As I recall, Garon had a fairly serious groin pull last year and he missed three or four weeks. We'll find out tomorrow how severe Aubin's strain is.
