Jason LaBarbera on attempting to grab hold of the starting job: ``I know it's there. I know it's an opportunity for me. I struggled a bit early but hopefully I can just build off this and take it from there because I know I'm capable of doing it.''
Michael Cammalleri on LaBarbera: ``All his saves were huge. It's been well documented we've had our troubles starting from the back end the last few years. But, like a lot of guys that have played with Barbs before, I'm not shocked. This guy can play.''

Jill Painter joined the Daily News in 2000 and during the last eight years she's covered the Dodgers, Cal State Northridge, UCLA, Kings, golf and everything in between. Even though she's from Colorado, she still freezes in the Staples Center press box but always manages to thaw her fingers in time to make deadline. E-mail Jill at

On an unrelated topic, I don't know what you guys did now but I can finally see the site from home again! Thank you! :)
Why did Crawford have Ivanis on the ice with 5min to play and we are up 2????? He gets schooled (as always) lets the player go by him, falls down, then loafs back and they score. THis guy is AWFUL. ANd to have a coach put this calibre player on the ice in crunch time tells you something.
Thanks for the continued coverage guys. Best game for the Kings this season. Maybe there's still hope. One great line's not going to get it done though. Now that Fro's off the schnied we'll see some parity.
Visnovsky still scares the heck out of me when he's got the puck.
