``The practices leading up to (the Calgary game), I started feeling good. Training camp was tough. I put a lot of pressure on myself and I kind of jinxed myself or something. But I kept working through it. I can't be too excited because it's only one game. People say you're only as good as your last game, but to me you're only as good as your next game.''

On why he put so much pressure on himself entering training camp: ``I knew it was a good opportunity for me. I knew they needed someone to take the bull by the horns here, and I know I can be that guy.''

I hope Barbs does well, but it doesn't give me much confidence when he basically said that in a big-time, opportunity-laden situation for him, he "jinxed" himself. =P It's good to know that our goalies are calm, cool, and collected.

Hello Kings Fans!

Here is the latest on the Monarchs as of a game against the Albany River Rats on 19 Oct. at the Times Union Center in Albany:

Cloutier: Started the game in goal and lasted one period! 14 shots and 12 rebounds! The Rats scored at 19:28 off a rebound on their first shot! The rats scored again a few mintues later, again off a rebound. Six shots on goal; two goals!! The Monarchs had 3 shots on goal in the 1st period! Cloutier gave up 3 soft goals and was pulled! I was at a Kings game in Oct. 2006 and the same thing happened!! Cloutier must go!! Nothing has improved with him in a year!!

The Monarchs came out with no passion, no intensity, no hitting, no nothing!! They look just like the Kings!!

Moulson is not a power forward. Maybe he can become a 4th line checker.

Tukenon is not a prospect. He was behind the play all night and had nothing in the corners.

Lewis started at right wing and also played center. He looks confused and is not at all physical, very poor overall. He needs to play center only.

Purcell, Dravecky, and Cliche are definate propects, in that order.

Boyle played both left and right defence, and played a lot of minutes. He got caught up ice once and is not as physical as his size indicates. He made a lot of good plays and stood up for his team-mates. He should be ready to play with the Kings soon.

Piskula and Hersley look like definate prospects, but it will take awhile, neither was very physical.

Aubin played the last two periods and did rather well.

The final score was 5-2 Rats, and they just out-worked and out-hit the Monarchs.

The Monarchs look just like the Kings, small forwards and a no-hit defence!! It is a very bad sign when your best player is someone named Gauthier and your second best player is someone named Guiliano!!

This orginazation needs a big boot in the rear from a coach like Keenan for about 3 years!!

Over and out!
