The NHL's leading scorer

That's the title held by Michael Cammalleri, at least for a few days. Cammalleri has three goals in his first two games, exceeding a strong start to last season that helped him to a 34-goal year. It also puts him on pace for a 123-goal season. He might come up just short...

``It helps your confidence,'' Cammalleri said of the fast start. ``It sucks to start a year pressing and wondering when that first goal is going to come.''

To that end, the trip to London was a success. It left players exhausted, a carry-over that extended to Wednesday's practice, but Cammalleri said he felt confident there would be no long-term problems.

``I'm tired right now, but it's one of those experiences where you'll look back on it and you'll be happy you did it,'' Cammalleri said. ``The important thing is to be ready (for Saturday). Am I ready to play now? No. Will I feel ready on Saturday? Definitely.''

There could be an early benefit to the trip, because while the Kings have been in ``game mode'' for the better part of two weeks, St. Louis is just gearing up. The Blues will have played one game before they meet the Kings.

``There is a possibility (of a benefit),'' Cammalleri said. ``Saturday won't feel like our first game, because it's not. We played the defending Stanley Cup champions twice. St. Louis can't say that.''

thanks rich! it would awesome if cammy reaches the 50 goal mark. rich do you know if the kings will ever release videos of their classic games (i.e. 1993 vs. Maple Leafs)? since you're practically a kings insider now, i figured you'd be the best person to ask.

Jayson,

The following link has a DVD of 1993's game against the Leafs included. I purchased it a year ago, and can't get enough of watching the whole set!
