The other move
Brady Murray has been assigned to Manchester, with no corresponding move. The reason is the same as Crawford gave for Jonathan Bernier...essentially, he doesn't want to expose these young players to this much losing.
Also, Dean Lombardi is expected to be on the phone tonight for an interview and, to answer a question, Jonathan Bernier could return under an emergency-player scenario, but that's highly unlikely. He's going to spend the year in Lewiston and then most likely to go Manchester if there's still time left in the season.

I question this move. While Bernier was understandable, Murray has played really well for us and the pressure on a number 1 goaltender and a fourth line forward are vastly different. He knows the losing is not his fault and can only get better and more experience staying with the Kings. He has proved he is ready for at least a fourth line position and that position should be his above Zeiler... This is a bad move.
I agree...this was a bad move.
There's no room on the Manchester line-up for Brady. In the Minor leagus, you can only dress 19 players, instead of 20. The Monarchs have 28 players on their roster.
That piece of Garbage Lombardi signed so many players, that talented prospects like Tukonen, Joe Piskula, Richard Petiot, Scott Parce, Peter Kanko, ETC... have already been healthy scratches. The coach over there altenates the lin-up everyday in order to allow every player to play 3 out of 4 games.
I have a feeling Brady is going to get lost in the shuffle or get sent down to the ECHL Reading Royals. By the way, its over-populated there too.
Brady will not be able to develope in this organization so long as Lombardi is the GM.
If I were a prospect in this organization, I would want to get the hell out before management ruins them.
To me, Lombardi is a bigger problem than Crawford.
Agreed.
I'm thinking a trade is in motion. Matt Cooke?
Klemm is the most likely recall imo. Manchester needs to play all the "young guns" and players are sitting on D.
I thought Zeiler looked pretty darn good last night.
OK. OK. Anthony you need to calm down. Lombardi is not a piece of garbage, you ignorant buffoon. Your posts have gone from barely reasonable to completely off base. He has not "damaged" any of our prospects, and a minor league team that is "overpopulated" is a very, very good thing for the moment. FYI, Parse has been injured, Kanko is not a top prospect, and Petiot and Piskula have to know that they are competing for maybe one spot at the NHL level as defensive defensemen. Give it 5 minutes to settle before you jump off the bridge. The only real problem so far has been the lackluster play of the veterans. The veterans are not going to be moved to make space for the rooks, the rooks have to actively displace the vets. That is going to take most of this year to happen.
We are not going to have a great season. We are going to (eventually) have a great team.
Can we send that piece of trash Anthony to the Manchester board?
Bad move or not (and I tend to disagree with it), this won't be the last we see of Brady Murray this season.
Petr Kanko the talented prospect. Good Lord.
lol. I didn't realize when I began posting here a week ago that there was another person posting under kevin as well :P so yeah, I will just start posting under "maverick" instead.
Sorry about that anthony etc... I am the first poster on this thread and the one who called for patience on Crawford but that ship is starting to sail. He needs to do something now and fast or else pretty soon he will have no reasons not to be fired and no supporters.
Gord, Lombardi just signed Kanko to a contract a few months ago this summer.
I'm well aware of that. I still scratch my head from time to time. I don't know what else is going to emerge from the guy, so they might as well throw him into it and get it over with.
I don't get the dislike for Zeiler. He is a 4th line guy that does a 4th line job well.
Last year when he came in, he gave the team some damn good effort and was all over the ice for the 8 minutes a game he got. Can't a 4th line guy just be a 4th line guy and not an offensive playmaker and still be liked ? Brady murray getting sent down isn't that big of deal. It just means Willsie will get some 4th line time this season until he is gone for good.
Murray scored a goal that showed a lot of talent and got the game jump-started at least for a while. So then what happens? The coach scratches him and then sends him down. Please can't we sent down Crawford instead? Please?
Why be so upset about this move? Murray has a very good chance of returning to the Kings later in the season. Also, I think alot of guys in Manchester will get some time with the Kings this year. It will be fun to see how these guys do. Watch for a number of current Kings (Willsie, Thornton, Armstrong, Modry, possibly Blake) to be moved early his season, making room for some young guys to earn regular spots.
Kevin #2...
If you hear Celine Dion singing a song about that ship...JUMP SHIP FAST!!!!

Too bad to see Murray go but he will be back. Great effort while he was here, good luck and we'll see you back soon.
What upsets me is that they're sending down people that are actually giving effort and rewarding those that aren't with roster spots because they're veterens. The one thing I respected a lot about Andy Murray was that play was earned. Even the highest scoring left winger in the history of the game was a healthy scratch a few times because he wasn't playing hard. There are some guys that can use a bleacher view for a few games to light a fire under them IMO. Don't scratch or send down the hungry guys giving the effort.
If they lose giving the effort at least you can appreciate watching the game.
