Wednesday (10/3) practice

A long skate for the team today, more than an hour. But that's not surprising since they're coming off two days ``off,'' if you count a transcontinental flight as a day off. Apparently it was rough going on the way home for the Kings, whose scheduled stopover for fuel in New York took about 2 1/2 hours longer than expected. But they made it.

Jean-Sebastien Aubin was on the ice and participating in drills. I asked Lombardi if he had forgotten to tell Aubin he was hurt, but Lombardi said Aubin is just about ready to go. Aubin apparently got hurt in Austria, during the game in which he relieved LaBarbera in the first period.

To take care of everyone's favorite question first...Crawford won't be letting anyone know who Saturday's goalie is. The choice is...would you rather have Bernier start the home opener or start a game in Dallas, knowing that there might be less pressure playing on the road? Or, perhaps both? Stay tuned...

We'll have a lot more stuff up here today. I talked to Handzus, Kopitar, Cammalleri, Johnson and Bernier, and Matt had an extended talk with Brady Murray, so we'll try to get a lot of stuff on the blog today, for those who can still read it...

Thanks guys! You're awesome. It's great to hear that everyone's back on the ice, including Aubin. I vote for Bernier playing the Blues and Labs playing the Stars.

"Stopover for fuel in New York"? None of the fans taking those nonstop Heathrow-LAX flights had to stop for fuel.

C'mon AEG, if you're going to make the team play in London at least charter a plane that can fly home without stopping.
