Calder not ready
Kyle Calder wasn't cleared for contact in his re-evaluation last night. Crawford said Calder won't make the trip to Dallas, and he obviously won't play tomorrow against Phoenix.
``He can skate but he has to be guarded in his contact right now because the healing process is still involved,'' Crawford said. ``We want to allow him to get his finger back in good shape and the only thing that's going to do it now is time.''
Crawford said he expects Raitis Ivanans to practice Sunday. ``We're looking forward to his return,'' Crawford said.

I can't believe I'm typing the words, but the Kings miss Kyle Calder.
It's even harder for me to agree.
His presence has been missed and his absence is felt.
Can't believe you guy's talk'n trash about Kyle Calder. He gives the team something no one else can, a huge presence in front of the opposition's goal. If you did see the last few games, that was one of the things that were missing in the King's "40 minute game Plan"....
Regarding Ivanans, with a plate in your cheek you might look fine, feel fine, skate fine, and even play a physical game, but wouldn't fighting be out of the question?
Matthew or Rich - I haven't seen anyone ask that point blank of Ivanans or the Kings medical staff. I think he might have what it takes to stay in the league as a non-enforcer, but he'd have to work his butt off.
