On a separate note: What do you guys think of the new NHL Network?
Wathcing some old games back in the 80's I'm at a lost what people mean when they say that the hooking/holding only got bad in the few yeas prior to the lookout.
The games I saw guys were practically wrestling w/ each other completely away from the puck. And guys w/ the the puck were getting chopped w/ sticks left and right. Don't get me wrong I love the way the rules are being enforced now. Just don't get what some people mean when they blame the hooking/holding on bigger and faster players. Seems like it's always been w/ us.
JB, where can you find it??
Conveniently located ESPN adjacent say like Channel 215. They had 1984 Oilers vs Calgary Game 7 of Smyth Division Finals. Ahh- The old division names . . . . .
JB, where can you find it??
Directv Channel 215.
I got DirecTv, free Nhl Network im guessing...
and its awesome! I was just watching Winnipeg vs Montreal, in the days where Montreal was unstoppable with Roy, Savard, Dionne, Gilbert, Mathieu Schneider, and the rest. I was also watching game 7 between the Oilers and Flames when the Oilers had Gretzky,Murphy(ex king), you should check it out. Also 3:00 Pacific time they have the goals of a certain year( ex. 2002-03 Top 10). on Directv channel 215, on the rest, i dont know. I am certainly enjoying it being a hockey fan, and i think any fan who would love to know the game would get this!!
Dish Network channel 403
Anyone know what the status is on NHL Network for those of us in Orange County with Time Warner (and the Center Ice package)? I called a so-called customer service rep and she had no idea what I was talking about.
To the Paul in Orange County:
I have Time Warner up here in Ventura County. They do offer Center Ice up here, so you have hope on that front.
As far as the NHL network goes, it's not up here and they have no idea when or if it will be.
Go to the TW website and submit a programming suggestion.
To the other guys:
I was a Isles fan when I lived in NYC in the early '80s and they won their 4 cups.
It's a completely different game now. It was much more physical in all respects back then.
I'm also glad that Directv has NHLnetwork in HD...man I love that they've added so many channels. Almost a game every night on the center ice package in HD now.
I'm taking this time off for the Kings to watch other teams with the Center Ice Package. I had a blast watching Dallas absolutely BOMB Anaheim last night.
