RICH HAMMOND

Rich Hammond has covered the Kings, on a full-time or part-time basis, since the 2000-01 season. He was the beat writer for the entire John Torchetti era and has witnessed Bob Miller singing country music in a Nashville honky-tonk bar. A native of Los Angeles, Rich has worked at the Daily News since 1999 and also serves as the paper's deputy sports editor.

As I am not the biggest believer in Jason Labarbera as a number one goaltender, I am skeptical of this changing the Kings fortunes, but I am happy that he's back because Quick and Aubin were pretty friggin' dreadful in his absence.

Why not try out Jeff Zatkoff. Heard he's been setiing CCHA records.
Future goaltending does look bright. That's for sure.

Here's hopin Quick can work his way back here in a couple years. Didn't play the greatest, but for somebody who started the year in Reading, he had his moments.
