Who would you like to see interviewed next for the blog, in the style of the Lombardi Q&A, with reader-submitted questions? Would you prefer Ron Hextall, or somebody in the front office who can talk about prospects?...Tim Leiweke, to talk about the state of the franchise?...Bob Miller and/or Jim Fox, to share their thoughts from the front line this season?...Luc Robitaille, to talk about his new role as team president and to share his thoughts about the season...or a player, for an in-depth interview? I'll leave it up to you...

Which interview are you most interested in?
Hextall/executive
Tim Leiweke
Bob Miller/Jim Fox

Also, to follow up on Matt's post, tomorrow's morning skate will be held at Staples Center, so those who usually attend in El Segundo can either sleep in or go outside and enjoy this wonderful SoCal weather...

i would like an interview with the most outspoken person in the organization.

maybe a player who has nothing to lose.

1. what do they see as the main reason for the team not gelling.

* we don't need to hear about all the new guys on the team as there has been plenty of time to work through that.

2. lack of team toughness seems apparent. having said that, is it an issue of a)the system OR b)the style of players cast together [i.e. offensive d-men as opposed to stay at home types]

3. if this team can't string together some wins or more importantly, consistent effort for a few games; is change eminent via trades/coaches/executives? or is this still acceptable within the rebuild plan that DL has laid out for AEG?

i don't know if anyone has the marbles to answer these questions or if they even can without hurting themselves or the team.

maybe you have a better way to segue those questions together than i do.

How about all of the above?

With the exception of Fox/Miller & Luc, they have all had a hand in screwing this up.

I think they all owe us an exlanation, at the very least.

I would like some feedback primarily on Simmonds and Bagnall. I'm well aware of their numbers but I would like to know when they may be up here playing with the big boys. Scratch the "big boys" comment, we're a pretty small team.

Thanks

I want an exec to tell us about what the plan is with the younger players like purcell, are they going to get time this year or are they going to try and let the kids play together and learn how to win together in the A and try to help the Monarchs play into the post season, or just give them JMFJ like experience with the last few games of the year or so ?

Also, booo this team has never played that great with any goalie in net this year, start Quick again, that save in the first period when the game was still close was a save I dont think Aubin makes, either way the kings played a full 60 minutes with him in net, let him play some more.

If it is Hextall, I want to know about the "after every game, DL and Hextall and assign letter grades to each player. Lombardi said he was pleased with last night's game because almost all of the players got a grade of B. A couple A's, a couple C's, but mostly B's. Point being, it was a consistent effort throughout the lineup, and that's the kind of thing the Kings need to maintain" that he dose with DL. What dose he see as the problem and possible fix

I'd like to hear from Dave Lewis on his thoughts about being an assistant coach after his head coaching stint, coming back to L.A., what factors attracted him to the job, how he sees this team shaping up, and whether he has his sights on eventually returning to the head coaching ranks.

agree with CUP4LA , I want to hear what Dave Lewis has to say

An interview with Hextall would be interesting but I'm afraid it would just be a Lombardi packaged answer that he's been told to repeat. I don't want yet another interview with Robitaille but there is one question I'd like to know the answer to, "Why are you trying to Hollywoodize the Kings?" This junk just makes us more like the "Mighty" era of the Ducks pandering to unimportant frills instead of getting fans in the arena with a good team.

I want to hear from whoever thought it was a good idea to close the City View Grille (is that what it is called) and use it for the All-You-Can-Eat deal. I want my garlic fries!

I comopletely agree 24diving. I remember how awful it was when I went down to the pond and between periods they had some guy with four poles attached to him, two dummies attached behind him and two in front, all dressed like the village people and he danced the "YMCA". We are taking steps in that direction, when we should be the ones with some sense of history and dignity. Kiddie hockey between periods is fun, but the t-shirt gun and those drummers are nothing more than distractions.

I get the feeling that if the choice "A Player" was at the top of the list in this poll, it would have gotten more votes. Seems strange to me interviewing a player is in last place. Who wants to hear from management? And we listen to jim and bob all the time not to mention the tons of interviews with luc. On kings live last night, I thought the interview with Quick was great! Very level headed kid. More intereviews with players!

Hextall.

Rich, if you do get a chance to speak with Hex, ask him for a direct answer on Parse's injury. So far it's listed as "lower body" and there's no timetable for his return.

What's the deal?

On the list that you provided Rich, I chose Hextall/executive. While an interview with him would be nice I would actually like to hear from Manchester's coach, Mark Morris. Morris has been very successful at all levels of hockey so far in his career and I think that his experiences that he brings to this organization, especially with young kids, will have a huge impact. Most of the talent that we are going to see don the purple and black are going to come through his watch. I would like to know how he feels about this organization and the talent that he sees in the kids that we have now and how he feels about their development so far.
I also like CUP4LA's selection. Hearing from Dave Lewis would be nice.
I guess hearing from a three of them at some point in this season would be very nice, that way we could see this organization from many different perspectives.

As always, thanks Rich! Your work is very much appreciated. We are spoiled to have a report who is not only excellent at his job, but is also a true fan (that bleeds purple and black) of the team that he is covering.

Hey hey hey... Now don't be bringing Lucky into your rant now. Even Miller and Fox are a stretch but when you start picking on Lucky you have crossed the line :P Stick to coaching staff and administration, Lucky excluded.

Bruce said:

Lieweke usually has nothing of substance to say and prefaces many of his sentences with the phrase "At the end of the day...". I would suggest not wasting your time by interviewing him. Every other choice in this poll would be more informative than Lieweke. Rich and Matthew - Thanks for all your efforts as always.

I want them to interview Bob and Jim and ask what piece they're missing. I'm tired of people saying it's goaltending b/c things have settled down pretty ok to the point that we usually don't give up much more than 3, which if you look around the league, is pretty acceptable..

I agree with Danielle is there any other place with the same food in the staples center ? That chicken salad was the only thing i had a chance of getting my girlfriend to eat at the staples center and that place with the garlic fries was the only place I've ever seen with that assortment of foods.

Any Q&A should provide insight into the current/future state of the franchise.

With that in mind, Leiweke will be a waste of time. He says the same things every year and nothing really changes. You will not get insight from him, only a spin most favorable to his puppet master owner.

Hextall will not want to say anything too controversial, for fear of reprisal from Crawford/Lombardi.

I would interview Bob Miller/Jim Fox. These guys are pretty candid as to what they see about this organization year in and year out. Bob especially knows the frustration of the fans, as he has been around almost as long as the franchise has been in existence.

I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH NATURALLAWYER... please get rid of the damn t-shirt gun & that irritating music that goes with it. if the team spent the money on things actually related to hockey and fielding a strong team... why not keep the fans focused on whats happening on the ice? cheering for good play rather than $2 t-shirts made in pakistan!!!! I miss the days at the forum where the best part of the entertainment would be hearing Rock n Roll part 2 by Gary Glitter come on in the 3rd period and everybody'd get pumped up. and speaking of that, can we please have Staples Center play some better music, atleast when the kings take the ice... nothing kills me more than hearing f-ing 3doors down in the 3rd period... cant we play something with some umph? get some metallica or hendrix, or atleast some Zepplin...

does anybody agree?

oh ps... if the kings get sweapt by phoenix on the season series crawford must be fired!

Rich and Matt,

Article out of Reading, PA today on Kings affiliation with new Ontario ECHL minor pro team....

http://www.readingeagle.com/article.aspx?id=72762

....Since Hextal is GM of the main minor affiliate, maybe ask him why they're apparently mum on the possible deal with the Reign. If they are going to have relations, do they plan on perhaps having two ECHL teams, possibly using the Reign as a closer team in which to rehab players coming back from injury, a la the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes - the Angels' 'A' affiliate?
