``Fire Crawford'' chant

| | Comments (18) |

A ``Fire Crawford'' chant was picking up steam around the arena midway through the second period, just after the fifth Nashville goal, before the Staples Center organ interrupted. First time I've heard that. It was loud enough where I'd have to say Crawford, Dean and everyone else in the arena heard it as well.

Scoring change on the last Nashville goal. They're giving it to Martin Erat instead of Gelinas.

Now why on earth would they be chanting something like that?
Shouldn't they also add DL to that list for hiring him.

The only conceivable chance the Kings have to win on Thursday Nite is to have Jim Fox wear his red plaid jacket! Matt or Rich, could you please intercede on our behalf? It's our only hope. God bless you!

...the chant was started by Mrs. Crawford too!

How bad do we have to get before deano pulls the plug, this is horrible. No team play, no defense, no heart, nothing. Fuck Crow and Deano. We are a clown act.

Hey Crow - F*** Y** and DL for hiring this POS.

Words cannot express how truly pathetic this team has become. Id have to agree with Anthony why fire just Crawford, Lombardi also had a hand in this craptacular team.

Its hard to say, but the Kings are the worst team in the NHL. I think Kings fans have been too loyal for too long. Its time that something be done.

someone stick a hot poker in my eye please... i don't want to see this anymore.

seriousy hockey... no, that's not going to work.

kings rule.... nope, scratch that.

we play for la... well, kopi, brown, johnson, and sully do... most nights anyway.

this coaching staff has to go.

i don't care how young our team is, if it's the system, or if they just need to figure out how to win as a group...

if you cannot get your team to do the defensive 'basics' you shouldn't be on coaching in the NHL.

if it's a player issue, act accordingly DL ... waive and trade as necessary.

this sucks.

DL DO SOMETHING!! FIRE TRADE WAIVE.... but do something..........................

Now have I told you all that the bandwagon has been fired up for some time now?

Really though, it's being chanted because it should have been done long ago and our GM has been gone so much, the fans just wanted to remind him on what to do next.

I wonder if our GM still thinks his primary job is that of a scout? Maybe he's just avoiding the bad part of his job: Firing people he likes when they don't produce.

Either way, I expect to see Crawford fired by tomorrow. This is a new low for the Kings, functioning as a team, especially with all the talent we have.

Pitiful.

Unacceptable to lose to a mediocre team like that at home especially after they got their asses Quacked the
night before. Rather than waste money on tickets the fans need to buy NHL package on direct TV so they can watch some real hockey. I do and i can tell you this is the least talented team in the league. With all the supposed offensive talent they do not have one player averaging a point a game. Capitals have Ovechkin. Tampa have
Vinnie.Brown is by far the best player on this team.
Kopitar is overrated and is absolutely clueless defensively. Johnson looks more like the second coming of Scott La Chance
than an elite NHL defenseman.Crawford probably is worst coach in league by far. The only hope is that DL can draft better than he trades or signs free agents. I have some serious doubts. I feel he wasted #4 pick last year on a player who would not have been drafted
until the twenties by anybody else. In San Jose he traded Kiprusoff to Calgary. Hopefully Bernier will turn out okay. Decision to go with two journeymen goalies doomed this team from the start.Tonight's game shows how much they have regressed in just two months and that falls squarely on Crawfish (kingkongkorab you thief)
and coaching staff.

Why is everyone convinced that a new coach is going to make the kings less horrible.

we're young, inexperienced, and make a tremendous amount of stupid mistakes. tonight, we didnt even care.

does anyone really think that a new coach can change effort, or god given skill? we just dont have it. if the players want to play, they will. if they dont, they wont. you can blame crawford, DL all you want. but its not going to change a thing.

That was the only joy that I found at this game tonight. that chant was going around from the middle of the 2nd period on, and I was a part of it each time, and I started it a few times myself! :-)

Why fire Crawford? Let him be miserable too!!! Let him finish out season and fel the pain.

Firing Crawford won't change anything. This is just a bad team right now. The offense comes through most nights, the defense and the goaltending continues to be the downfall. Everyone's freaking out calling for change, that was done 2 years ago. DL is trying to rebuild this franchise from scratch, what the hell do you people expect? Someone's got to finish in last, it's our turn.
