Injury updates
Michael Cammalleri and Kevin Dallman came on the ice together and wearing red jerseys with about 15 minutes left in practice. They handled the puck and did some drills on the far end, away from the other players, with assistant coaches. Dallman looks farther along than Cammalleri. Dallman was shooting and his only real limitation is that it's tough to push off hard on the right foot. Cammalleri was passing the puck around but had trouble putting any speed on his shot. They both participated in wind sprints with the rest of the team at the conclusion of practice. Dallman is out against Edmonton but could be ready to play against Calgary. He plans to participate fully in the skate tomorrow and the practice(s) before the Calgary game. He is wearing a protective piece of graphite over his right skate that should give him some confidence that he won't take a shot in the same spot, and he says it doesn't limit is maneuverability at all.
It sounds questionable as to whether Cammalleri will play on this trip, but he will go.
``I'm trying push it and get back as soon as can,'' Cammalleri said. ``I hope to play as soon as I can, so I go on this trip with all the optimism and we'll see what happens.''
``Cammalleri still a little ways away,'' Crawford said. ``We’re hoping he has a couple days where he starts to feel a lot better. He's doing active-release therapy and acupuncture to try to speed things along. He's attacking it as well as he can but it’s a tedious, time-consuming rehabilitation. I know nobody wants be back more than Mike.''
