Kings lose 6-1

Not exactly a happy 28th birthday for Jason LaBarbera. He allows five goals and is pulled after two periods. The Kings were outshot 18-6 in the first period. Derek Armstrong got the lone goal for the Kings. Daymond Langkow had a hat trick for Calgary. The three-game winning streak is over.

Where is the fire?? Lots of passengers in that game to say the least!! Johnson looked terrible - does he know how to fight for a puck in the corner? Our D looks very easy to play against right now. Good to see Thornton go after Phaneuf after his poke at Aubin at the end of the game - atleast someone was upset with the score! Yeesh.

I am sure glad that " Bellie " didn't watch this game. Lest I hope she didn't.

If the Kings lose and there's no one to see it, did it happen?

Regardless I've booked my flight to Hotlanta next weekend to support KopiStar. I'll be rocking my #11 jersey proudly. Anyone else gonne be there for All Star weekend? I'd love to grab a drink....or if you're in NY/NJ going to their games against the Devils and Rangers lemme know.

This game wasn't nearly as close as the score reflects. It should have been 6-0 after the first period.

The Kings defense was absolutely awful! Blake & Johnson made some of the worst turnovers I've ever seen in a hockey game, leading directly to goals.

Pulling LaBarbara shows that Crawford doesn't have a clue on how to fix this team. LaBabara was the ONLY reason the game was as close as it was. He stood on his head half the night.

The TSN broadcasters were ripping the Kings all night, and rightly so. They used phrases like "The Kings defense clearly mailed it in", and "This team couldn't beat a AAA midget team", and lest I forget "They've hung LaBarbara out to dry time after time tonight".

Forget Stamkos. We need defense. DL should and probably will draft Drew Doughty.

That's what they get for going dog-sledding.

Count on the Kings to mail in games like they did last night. The puck-handling is atrocious. Our defense is so God-awful they can't even clear the puck from their own end. How many turnovers did they have in this game?

We need to be concerned about Jack Johnson. He's getting man-handled at times, making poor decisions with the puck, and his height (or lack of it for a defenseman) is a problem.

Are Cliff Ronning and Daymond Langkow related somehow ?

I live near Philly, so I'll be at six of the games on the "post All-Star" road trip...Philly, all three NYs, Pittsburgh and Columbus. I don't know where I'm sitting for the NY-NJ games...a friend is bringing a group from SoCal and I'll be with them. But I'd love to meet up with any Kings fans who show up.

BTW, I have ONE xtra ticket to the Pittsburgh game Feb. 9th...face value is $60. If anyone is interested, e-mail me at laikaloco@aol.com...please use "Kings-Pens tix" as the subject matter.

thanx...

Couple questions to Rich and Matt:

#1:
Brian Boyle in Manchester, has his position been changed back to Center? or are they flip flopping him back and forth between positions?
Concerned about this guys development. He is a huge menace of a player. I would hate for the Kings to blow it.

#2:
Where did they bury the body? I noticed Cloutier has not had a start Manchester for some time. Not that I wanted him back up with the Kings. Just noticed him being inactive.

Better trade Blake before he has a couple of more games like last night. He
played last night like he was already a Flame. Unfortunately I don't think the Flames were too impressed.
