Touching story from Saturday's game

Many of you have already seen this. But, since it's a slow day, I wanted to make sure everyone got to read this column by Tom Hoffarth that ran in Sunday's Daily News on an autistic girl going to her first Kings game.

awesome. i love the part about her banging the trash can after the goal... man, why doesn't everyone appreciate hockey so much?

Tim said:

That's awesome! Maybe the Kings should just give her and her family a suite, she might be the "think" the kings need to keep winning!

Thanks Matt!

What a touching story. I'm sure glad the Kings were able to give her the win she wanted to see.

Wonderful story. I wonder how she knew about the Kings!?! I really hope that the Kings staff gets her a team signed stick and a game used puck for them to hang up on her wall.

"The Kings to win," Bellie typed.

What a sweet story.

Think this will put the stop to some people's "unless you have played the game you can't be a true fan" garbage? She seems to have a solid grasp on the concept of being a fan.

I know Tom Hoffarth, the author of that piece, from my church. There was more to the story that he did not put in the article. Her mother *did* ask her how she knew about hockey and the Kings, and her answer was "God". I know it's not PC to bring religion into non-religious aspects of life, but 24diving asked the question. I found her answer *very* interesting, especially since she was adamant about it being the Kings, and not the Ducks.

Very touchin story...brought tears to my eyes. Don't tell anyone though, I may get mad!

Great story. I don't know how god would know how god would let her know about the Kings though.

If he loved us, he wouldn't have let Marty on the ice with that curved stick back in 93.

Same here Sancho.

What a touching story made even more special when the team we so passionately root for and love, goes out of their way to give this special child the greatest day of her life.
All the best to this little girl an her family.
I'll be giving my children a litle extra hug tonight.

PS this doesn't make me g@y...not that there's anything wrong with that. LOL

great story.... I'm just glad she happened to be at a game the kings won..

I have the same sentiments as everyone else for the little girl. I too am glad she saw the Kings win.
The real question is if there is a "God" why does he/she/it hate the Kings?
