Both players cleared waivers

So Cloutier is up with the Kings. Now that the transaction is complete, I'm trying to get someone from the Kings on the phone to discuss. So look for that. Instead of sending Aubin down immediately, the Kings placed Rob Blake on the IR.

HOW SHOCKING.

I'm sure there must have been at least 20 GM's circling the toilet, waiting to snatch up these two pernial hall of famers.

Get off your knees DL, and stop praying. The other GM's in the NHL are above your league.

Can you also get an update on "Nagy" :)

Give DL another year before
you blast him. He made a mistake with Cloutier and
free agency has been a joke so far but I think he should be judged after next
season.Philly turned things
around in one season but they got lucky in FA.I am
not as optimistic as some but believe DL deserves
until next season.

Anthony, you still continue to be the biggest tool on to comment on this blog.

Lombardi's move was clearly an attempt to give Cloutier a shot back up here. I bet he was hoping that no one claimed him off re-entry waivers. I'd rather have him not healthy than Aubin. And since he's supposedly back healthy he's back.
Aubin was just an insurance policy anyways iin case Dan wasn't healthy this year. Now Dan has his shot to play himself into the NHL again and earn a contract at the end of next years deal and justify his current one.

Well said Freezang. I know it's the internet but a dash of rationality never hurts now and then... Anthony's endless DL/MC bashing is tiresome../

Also might be just to give him a start since we have back-to-back games over the weekend to see how he does. What do we have to lose? Not like Aubin was going to do anything so bring up Clouts for a start/back-up.

Very nice to see Dean-o and MC pulling out all the stops to ensure that the Kings win the Stamkos sweepstakes!!!

I question the sanity and judgement of anyone who thinks that Inspector Cloutier is better than Yo-Mama Aubin...

Get the facts straight.
Yes, its no secret, I'm not a fan of DL. Most of his moves have been flat out pathetic.
However, as of late, I've been pretty fair with MC. Even complementing him at times for some of his coaching.
I'll be the first to admit that MC is coaching alot better now than he did at the beginning of the season.
I give props when its due.

According to the Kings blog, Aubin remains with the Kings today...

Imagine if Clouts gets the start against Detroit..

Anthony could you imagine if cloutier comes back and actually looks good and DL is able to move him at the trade deadline in a deal with rob blake for an additional 6th round pick ?

How long does Blake have to stay on IR for, 2 weeks ?

The "tools" are the guys that either don't know or don't understand that 40 years of flopping needs to be addressed by something MORE than lame rotations of 2nd tier goalies. LaBarbera plays one game like a top goalie (vs the 24 second period shooting rangers) and what happens? Kings win. What would it be like to have a true #1? Us King fans haven't known for 15 years. The shrieking Lombardi lovers apparently don't care.

Shout STAMKOS all you want. I shout NEARLY 2YEARS now and Dumbardi has us in the CELLAR. It's beyond getting old.

Anthony for President.

joe, it was retroactive to something-or other, so probably less than 2 weeks now.

I think Labs starts tonight and Saturday. I'd give Cloutier the start on Sunday. The Jackets have less blow-out ability than the Penguins. :)

I actually thought somebody would have plucked Aubin. His performance is neither here nor there, but with his measly little cap hit should've sparked some interest.

If I were a GM, I wouldn't even trade future considerations for both Blake & Cloutier.

If Cloutier starts against Detroit, I guarantee that Lidstrom will be shooting from center ice. The question is, how many will go in the net???

thanks JT I just ate man.

I think he'll play the 2nd game of the back to back. Anyone here would have been confident with Aubin in goal? Didn't think so.

Frolomite is high...at least Clouts has done SOMETHING in this league, albeit long ago... I'd rather have Fukufuji between the pipes than Aubin

You're living in the "WAS," Mrs. Anthony. I'm all about the "IS", baby! 2003-04 was so long ago...

Black & Decker, the tools are the people who are anti-Lombardi. He is doing a fine job is building this organization. He's giving Labarbera a chance to win a job and prove he's a #1 goalie in this league. If Dean didn't give him a chance people would be screaming for not giving him a chance. And the reason he wouldn't give him a chance would be because traded for a goalie that you are asking for so badly and would give up players like Sully, Brown or Frolov in return. We will eventually get that goalie don't worry. Probably next year or the year after, when we have a butt load of prospects and young players and can afford to trade people away and still have depth and will be in a position to make a run at the playoffs or a deep playoff run
