Kings win 5-1
I'm back from the locker room and will have quotes after I finish my article and transcribe them. No official word on the Armstrong injury but Crawford doesn't think it's serious. The injury ended up working out well for the Kings because it got the line of O'Sullivan, Cammalleri and Frolov together, and they dominated. Hat trick for Frolov, goal and four assists for O'Sullivan and three assists for Cammalleri. Ellis is expected to be at practice tomorrow, and he could end up playing right away depending on Armstrong's injury.
Nice win by the Kings "i heard"! Slightly off on my "shutoot, Frolov hat trick, w/2*Cammy assists" prediction but hey, thnx to Kevco, not too bad at all..;)
How did u like this one Anthony? Your so-called "beachball" (Cloutier) must have played his arse off, "Lubo-cookie" had a strong one and "Dumbardi" trade O'Sullivan with a 5 point night? I'm sure you'll find something else to rant like an idiot about.
Why the hell wasn't this televised btw? Anyone know?
Thanks FSN for not televising the game when a Hat Trick just happens to occur. A 5 point night. A Blowout and a game against Fellow Andy Murray.
diehard, you're right. You missed a real good game.
Should have ordered the NHL Center Ice Package.
Like I did. Sorry you missed out.
holy $*#^#@&! four assists for sully and a hat trick for frolov?
only problem is, we can pretty much guarantee crow will break this line up. put purcell with kopi and brown, leave the other line intact, and we're good!
Why do so many fans think that lines have to be set in stone? It's important for these young players to get experience in all kinds of situations with all kinds of linemates. Get it through your heads that coaches and GMs in the NHL know a helluva lot more than you people.
I watched the Blues broadcast on NHL Center Ice.
Considering how the Blues DOMINATED the first period, this is a very good win by the Kings.
And to have young guys like O'Sullivan and Frolov rack up the points should be a real shot in the arm for this team.
Then again, if you watched the Blues broadcast, the Kings weren't even on the ice. The puck was just bouncing around the goal by itself and a few times it somehow got in the goal. As if by magic.
Great game all around. Clouts won the game in the 1st period. He made some incredible saves. Its still possible he can be moved at the deadline. He looks healthy and has played well. You never know. Who would have thought that was a possibility a month ago?
I agree the lines should be continually adjusted..Sully looked great with Fro and Cammy. I felt bad for Kopitar and Brown...especially when they put Willsie with them. It was hard on the eyes to see how he could make 2 great players look ordinary.
PP was excellent. Good puck movement and the results were there.
I forgot
For those that were watching on the package I think we may have found the worst color analyst in hockey. Bernie Ferderko is God-awful. He kept saying how great the Blues were playing and how the Kings got a couple of lucky bounces. Yeah, thats why it was 5-0. Just luck. Please...no more give us Fox-Miller..I'm begging PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I was half right, 5-1, but KINGS WIN. Never saw that coming. Then again I did post early before JLB was announced as not playing. I was way happy to lose a hat for Frolov!
Never thought I'd say it but our defense was good and we got two good games in a row from Clouts. I wonder if he can keep it going, way to keep trying, but still has a lot to prove after last year.
Can't wait for Saturday.
EJ because you build chemistry with linemates over time. Shuffling things around just keeps you from doing that.
I was there and give Cloutier credit where credit is due. He was VERY shaky earlier. If you guys thought Labs left some nice rebounds you would have been shaking your head early on. He settled down, played well and even made a few great saves.
Fro and Sully obviously were studs.
I saw the game on center ice too even put a bet on it when the line changed to a + for the Kings late in the afternoon. A lot of people must have bet on St. Louis for the line to make such a drastic change. They lost and I won. Ha Ha.

By keeping the lines together, Sully would have still been on the Brown-Kopitar line. By swithcing things up (due to injury) Sully was moved to line with Fro/Cammy they looked like they had instant chemistry going. You never know what you have until you try it. We're not going anywhere this year so it makes sense to try different line combinations to see which work and which don't.

This is true but you take apart a line that's been doing your scoring all year long. Sully seems to be the guy that makes everything work on either line. The other guys chip in and make huge contributions but it seems like Sully is the key to both.
I would always say Kopitar. but now its also Sully and Frolov. They are all amazing talents.
