Tip-a-King tonight
at Universal Studios. All Kings players will be there giving autographs and photos for tips, which will go to the Kings Care Foundation. I believe tickets to get in can be bought at the event. You can read more about it at the Kings site. There, you can see pictures of the personalized Kings motorcycle autographed by the players that will be auctioned off. It's pretty cool looking. It reminds me of the purple PT Cruiser with Kings decals that is often in the Toyota Sports Center parking lot. Does one of you own that car?
No practice today. The 10:30 practice Monday is optional.

Rich Hammond has covered the Kings, on a full-time or part-time basis, since the 2000-01 season. He was the beat writer for the entire John Torchetti era and has witnessed Bob Miller singing country music in a Nashville honky-tonk bar. Jill Painter joined the Daily News in 2000 and during the last eight years she's covered the Dodgers, Cal State Northridge, UCLA, Kings, golf and everything in between. Tip a King... Sunday night during the Oscars! Great scheduling to ensure a low turnout. On another note Matt, I use the Firefox browser and just noticed the last few times I've come to the site that a "stop script" alert comes up and its slowing down the site... thought you'd like to know.
If I'm not mistaken, that purple PT Cruiser belongs to none other than Mike "RinkRat" Z - the founder of LetsGoKings.com
That's my PT Cruiser with the KOPITAR license plates. I might have to get the chopper to complete the set!
Rinkrat
The guy with the PT is "RinkRat" on Letsgokings.
I'm having the same problem as Army.
Oh yeah "LGKs" ...that "king's" site dedicated to pictures of personal vacations, promoting roller derby, and censoring any critical comments of the Kings and/or their organization because the Kings are beyond criticism .. . yeah that's a great site! Anthony's probably a regular there.
What's with all the bashing on LGK...I mean there is plenty of silliness on that site...but to say that they "censor critical comments of the Kings" is just blatantly wrong...In fact, the posters there are blatantly negative towards the Kings pretty much 70% of the time...especially this season understandably...
For example....on LGK right now is a post that says
If Blake is traded to the Ducks...
... then I'm done as a Kings fan.
Until Anschutz sells the team, Lombardi is fired or both.
Promise.
Rumor Alert: Malik, Hossa and Pock from NY to LA for Brown!
i normally don't like commenting on peoples posts when they're from "anonymous" but i'll say this..
get rid of brown and you lost a lower bowl season ticket holder here
.
oh and I almost forgot...
OSCARS??
who the hell cares about the oscars anymore.... certainly not ANY hockey organization, let alone the fans.
oscars bore the crap out of me ... and no way would DL sign Brown up to a 6 year contract and ship him out a couple months later.. He is a key to the rebuilding of this organization!!
RUMOR ALERT!
Kings trade "anonymous" for Hasek/Malkin/Modano in blockbuster multi-team deal!!
Come on Matt George, if you are going to joke about a blockbuster trade, don't use Hasek and Modano. More like Datsyuk and Zubov?
Yeah PTCruisers painted purple are cool! I'm gonna get a Gremlin and paint it Clipper Blue in honor of the great LA Clippers.
if they get rid of brown, ship the whole organization east a few hours and call them the "Las Vegas Kings." Anonymous can be the GM and LGK can run the PR department.
whatta you all think?
TxKing
That remark was completely uncalled for.
Take that kind of crap to a Ducks board.
I haven't heard anything here in NY about that.
No way the Kings trade one of their top 6 players for a 30something yr old 7th defenseman, Hossa a left wing with 1 goal 7 assists in 36 games and Pock a 27 yr old defenseman who's played 1 game with the Rangers this year.
Annonymous should be banned from site.
RUMOR ALERT: Kings are about to trade "Anonymous" and the NHL rights to Kwame Brown to the Habs for Ryder, Halak, and a 2nd round pick.
The salary cap space freed up by the Kwame trade enables Lombardi to sign Anthony to a six-year extention...
sorry if i hurt anyone's feelings, just prefer Kings sites that actually focus on the kings and not self-promotion. and the censoring referred to some critical comments I made about Jim Fox, whom I used to play with, I was sent an email by the LGK guys saying my membership was restricted. No problem, Jim Fox is still an ass and I no longer visit LGK. No worries.
