RICH HAMMOND

Rich Hammond has covered the Kings, on a full-time or part-time basis, since the 2000-01 season. He was the beat writer for the entire John Torchetti era and has witnessed Bob Miller singing country music in a Nashville honky-tonk bar. A native of Los Angeles, Rich has worked at the Daily News since 1999 and also serves as the paper's deputy sports editor.

Coutier expected to start

Dan Cloutier is expected to start tonight against the Canucks, a Kings official said via e-mail.

Brian Willsie is expected to be the only healthy scratch tonight.
Scott Thornton and Ladislav Nagy are still out with injuries.

No surprise here. Now, whats going on with the Lightning? Kings will probably finish second last and lose the lottery and pick third overall, thus missing Stamkos and Doughty.

as for Cloutier......pfff whatever. maybe we'll get lucky and he'll have one more respectable game, being this is his old team. or not, either way I just don't care as long as we don't have to give him maybe one more start beyond this and it's not against the Sharks or Ducks.
