Final...Wild 2, Kings 1 (OT)

With 1:15 remaining in overtime, Skoula gave up the puck to Gaborik in the corner, then circled to the front of the Kings' net. He sneaked behind both Kopitar and Visnovsky, then Gaborik threaded a pass between the two Kings. Skoula, alone in front, made a quick move on Ersberg and slipped the puck past him. The Kings deserved at least one point out of this game, and got it, but also lost a golden chance for a nice road victory and fell to 0-2-2 in their last four. A very nice night for Ersberg, despite how it ended. Notes and quotes to follow a bit later...

if Ersberg is not starting the next game then i must be really really dumb and not understand hockey. he looked good, had great positioning AND CONTROLLED ALL REBOUNDS when he didn't just flat out hold onto things.

Really a great performance.

Watching that entire OT period made me sick to my stomach.
I mean the entire period spent chasing the opponents during their cycle. Pitiful.
Kings are helpless when other teams cycle the puck. Most of the time the oppnents either score a goal or the Kings take a penalty.
Interesting that I've never seen the Kings control the puck that way.
Not in the entire season.
Allwing D-man to take the face-off was a mistake too. It allowed Skoula to camp in front of Ersberg.

Ersberg is a great goalie. He has a good future with the Kings if the Kings can get some good D-men. What we have now sucks.

no offense Anthony but if you have never seen the kings cycle like that then you must be missing a vast majority of the time that Fro is on the ice...

Ersberg looks like a very solid netminder, I loved seeing the team play with confidence infront of him... I agree with everyone who has said he should be given a chance. i researched his stats when we signed him, and to excell at the top level in the swedish elite league is no fluke... and be named best goaltender... I wish we could've seen him up here earlier in the season... plus he's swedish... and you cant go wrong with swedish players... just look at how many f-ing detroit has...

Ersberg looked awesome, which is why I hope he doesn't play too much down the stretch. Let's go #1 pick!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree Ersberg should get the nod the rest of the way. Putting Cloutier in there at this point is like continuously banging your head against the wall and expecting different results.

Is Ersberg for real. I watched the entire game and liked what I saw.
Is he in their future?

Antyhony,

I don't know what you've been watching all year. The Kings cycle down low constantly with Frolov. It's all about puck possession, which the Kings do very well.
I agree that it seemed strange letting Preissing take the face-off, but nobody else on the Kings can win a draw anyway.
