Practice today

We'll have a full report from practice today, a bit later. Just wanted to give a big thanks to Jill Painter, George Foulsham and Don Fulton, who did an amazing job with the blog while I was out having fun in the frigid Midwest. All three of them went above and beyond the call of duty, and thanks to all the readers for making them feel welcome. Don will continue doing some of his great practice reports, and George had so much fun that he has volunteered for more work! Poor guy... Anyway, more later. Is there a need for another ``Open Forum'' session this week?

I don't think we need an Open Forum, but it would be nice If we could somehow get an overview of the Breakfast with DL on Sunday. (I know that's kinda hard since you were not there)

Rich, have you heard anything about contract negotiations / talk regarding some of the King's UFAs or RFAs? O'Sullivan, Cammy, Blake, etc?

Welcome back.

Hope you have a chance to read Dean Lombardi's transcript from "Breakfast with the GM"

Also hope you have a chance to read Dan Cloutier's piece in the Vancouver Sun:

At that point, you might have a couple of questions for Deano that would have him choking on his croissant ;)

Rich,

the vancouver sun published a report about the kings and cloutier... basically painting the kings as an "unclassy" organization, citing several cloutier quotes...

anyway we can get more on this? It sounds like "Danny" isn't happy.

Here's the article

Yeah Rich, you GOTTA ask DL about this whole Cloutier situation that was written in the Vancouver Sun. Would like to know what the Kings organization says about it. It is something that needs to be addressed from Dean.

On one hand you would wish Clouts would just bear down and focus on his job. I know it's hard on the pittance of a salary he is being paid, but why does he have to gripe to a Canadian paper? On the other hand, is this one of the reasons there is a perception that LA (and the Kings organization) is an undesirable place to play?

SB, check out the forum at Letsgokings.com for a word-for-word transcript of Breakfast with the GM.

After reading the Cloutier story (thanks for the links guys) and the GM breakfast I would say the open forum is a good idea this week. Example: If the Kings get the 1st overall pick and doesn't take Stamkos, like it is insinuated in an article I read, what do you think Lombardi will do? Personally, I think he will be committed but I digress.

Hey marc,

Where can "I" read that transcript of the "Breakfast with the GM" Thanks in advance.

SB, try here:

The only thing left out is the very end where Dean talks about Stamkos and the draft. What was said is covered here:

Hey Rich welcome back. Not sure we need anotehr open forum although I will never say no to more information in light of everythign they came out at the breakfast. That said, I got my question in late and I never saw an answer so I will throw it out there again.

I wanted to get your opinion or Dean's if you can speak with him on it, about what I saw as a potentially missed opportunity to pick up AL Montoya. I hated to see the Coyotes get him for what seemed to be very little.

Look forward to your reply.
