RICH HAMMOND

Rich Hammond has covered the Kings, on a full-time or part-time basis, since the 2000-01 season. He was the beat writer for the entire John Torchetti era and has witnessed Bob Miller singing country music in a Nashville honky-tonk bar. A native of Los Angeles, Rich has worked at the Daily News since 1999 and also serves as the paper's deputy sports editor.

Hickey probably out

According to the Seattle Times, Thomas Hickey is unlikely to play tonight. Hickey took a knee to the head during Friday's game, and although the word isn't being used, he's almost certainly suffering from a concussion. Seattle plays Tri-City tonight in Game 3 of the WHL Western Conference semifinals. The series is tied 1-1 and the teams play again Wednesday. Here's the story...
