Moller, Holloway sign
The Manchester Monarchs have made it official: Oscar Moller and Bud Holloway have signed amateur-tryout agreements today. Here's the release from Manchester:

Monarchs Sign Two Draft Picks
MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have signed right wing Bud Holloway and center Oscar Moller to amateur tryout agreements, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.
Holloway, 20, joins the Monarchs after completing his fifth season with the Western Hockey League's Seattle Thunderbirds. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound native of Wapella, Saskatchewan, finished second on the Thunderbirds this season with 83 points (43-40=83) in 70 games. Selected by the Kings in the third-round (86th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Holloway collected 197 points (95-102=197) and 150 penalty minutes in 282 games since the 2003-04 season. He will wear No. 51 for the Monarchs.
Moller, 19, finished second on the WHL's Chilliwack Bruins with 82 points (39-43=82) and 42 penalty minutes in 63 games this season. The 5-foot-11, 177-pound native of Stockholm, Sweden, led the Bruins in goals with 39. In his rookie season with Chilliwack, Moller ranked second with 69 points (32-37=69) in 68 games during the 2006-07 season. He will wear No. 48 for the Monarchs.

WOW... talk about breaking news. I had just checked about a half hour ago and there was nothing on the AHL site, which usually (based on about 10 moves this season) has the news prior to the Kings release. Now I'm even more excited about my forthcoming road trip... Wonder if they'd actually dress.

Since Moller is eligible for another season in the juniors, can he still be allowed to return to his WHL team.

Due to his age, Moller will not be able to play in the AHL next year.
This is only a temporary move that falls outside the age restriction because his WHL season is over.
I'm curious to see if this is just a move to have Moller and Holloway (and Zatkoff as well) practice and experience the playoffs with the other prospects or if they're actually going to get in some games. If they do play, seeing who gets sat might be an indication of who is not in the kings long-term plans.
The AHL rules are that anyone 18 or older can play. The CHL and NHL, however, have an agreement (which is why you don't see it on the AHL site) which prevents players from the CHL drafted by an NHL team to go play in the AHL. (This rule only applies to players that were in the CHL prior to being drafted)
Essentially, any player that is not 20 before Jan 1 of the season in question or has not completed 4 full years of juniors is ineligble to play in the AHL or ECHL- Bernier turns 20 this summer and has completed 4 years; Moller doesn't turn 20 until the end of January of next year and has only completed 2 years of juniors. That is why he is not eligble to play for Manchester next year and Bernier is.

Thanks for the knowledge. Two questions for you if you don't mind:
1.) Does that mean that Moller can play for the Monarchs after he turns 20 in January or does he have to fulfill his contract with Chilliwack?
2.) Can Moller skate in a Monarchs playoff game or is he basically there to get the lay of the land and a cup of coffee?
1) No, he has to play the full season.
2) Yes, he can play as far as i know.
Great developement for LA, Manchester and two rising juniors' stars.....
