DL better sign Sully and quick!!!

DL, doesn't mind giving up Sully, knowing that he would get picks. You know DL loves his picks

Sully may be able to use this as a comparable and since he is more productive Sully can now ask for more.

Ryan Oliver,
you are absolutely right.
Eklund and other hockey sources are stating that Sully will be getting an offer from other teams.
Buffalo & Edmonton seem very interested.
Can you imagine the points he can put up in the weaker earstern conference.

I thought the signing of offer sheets was a cardinal sin amongst the GM's, particularly after the Penner fiasco last year.....

2.5 million for three years would be a good price and term for Sully. He may get a little more but this sounds pretty fair.

considering vancouvers new gm was a agent, im sure he doesnt see things the same way as other gms.

I dont think the Kings will let him go even if he is signed to an offer sheet. Could you imagine the Oilers doing that, right after making a trade with the Kings. Kevin Lowe is scum already, but if he did that, thats inexcusible.

I think it's not so much a sin to sign an offer sheet, but rather to offer a much bigger salary than the RFA's current team can afford to pay him. The good news is DL has pleanty of money to spend so he should be able to match any offer sheet Sully signs.
I hope it doesn't come down to that, but I wonder how high DL is willing to go to keep Sully.

I can easily see Sully getting 3-4 mill a season in the 3-5 year range.

What do you guys think Sully is worth?

JDM
Sully is projected to be a point per game player.
He'll also top 40 goals in a season or two.
His talent is undeniable.
Other teams see that.
I'd say he's worth about $3.5-$4 Mil.
That's steal if you consider the points he'll put up soon.

Ryan Oliver,
do you see Dl matching any offer.
How high do you think DL will go.

JDM, he has money to spend now but Dean also has to sign Kopitar and Johnson next year. Before this I was hoping to get Sully at $2.5MM/yr but since he is better than Backes, I think Sully may end up in Dustin Brown territory of $3.5MM/yr or so.

Sully hasn't earned anything more than 2 million/season, but in order to lock him up, it's going to take what Dustin got, which I'm fine with.

4 years - 15M

I think Patrick is going to have an even better year coming up. If you watched a lot of games last year, it was Patrick (of course Brown) who was throwing his body around. And by the end of the year, other teams were knocking him around a bit. Not not going to happen this year. DL brought in some physical guys to both play that part, and protect players like O'Sul. So with my smarts:) I'm predicting he will focus a little more on the offensive end, and let some of these new bullies do the dirty work.

I really don't know how much he's worth per year though. Thats not my gig. Watching the games is what I'm good at.

So Jet...you think a guy who hasn't proven anything is worth almost 4 million/season?

No wonder why teams lose million's every year.

I love Sully, and I THINK he will be great, but he hasn't proven a thing yet.

If I had my druthers, I'd love to lock him up for 5 years at 15 million. I can't see that happening, which is why I said I'd be happy with what Dustin got.

DL will match any offer. Sully is on an upside and will only get better. He said he will keep this team together, and he will.
