Will Vancouver now turn their attention somewhere else?
As expected.
Now watch them go after Sully.
With more money of course.
And, has anyone mentioned to Dl that its 07/01/08.
And the signing frenzy has begun.
I wonder if O'Sullivan next on there list.
Anthony, who do you want DL to sign? Demitra? Campbell for 7 mil a year? Jeff finger for like 5 million a year? Just curious who he should be signing.
The price may have just gone up... in relatively the same amount of NHL experience, O'Sullivan's offensive numbers are a little better and he kills penalties too.
I'm starting to think the Kings won't get him for less than $3.25 mil to 3.5 mil. I hope they lock him up for 4 years if that's the number.
I'm looking at Orpik possibly.
Hossa wouldn't hurt either.
Both would be ideal.
Hossa for what 10mil thats ridiculous, and won't bring us a cup. Orpik isnt too far off, I like that.
I have to agree with Anthony. Sign Orpik to a long term contract and front load it. Even though it'll average out in the long run we'll have the space and money to encourage him to join the Kings.
IMAGINE A LINE BROWN-KOPI-HOSSA THEN BACK IT UP WITH
FROLOV-STOLL-SULLY
I don't think you'll see a deal for Khabibulin (if at all) until O'Sullivan's situation is worked out, and maybe even Blake.
Hahahahaha. So when all is said and done Anthony is merely interested in the two most coveted players available. Oh that is too funny.
I think Orpik for 4 yrs 20 million would be ok. Get Demitra at 2 yrs. 3.5 mill per yr, it would be ok as well.
The Team would look like this then:
Sully-Kopi-Brown
Frolov-Stoll-Demitra
Calder-Handzus-Purcell
Ivanans-Army/Boyle- Ellis
Orpik-JJ
Blake (He will be back unfortunately)-Doughty
Greene-Preissing
Labs
Ersberg
This team will show improvement
can anyone tell me if you sign a upfront contract such as gave the player a $8 million signing bonus does that money count toward the first year of the contract in term of salary cap or the bonus is spread over the life of the contract the player sign.
tsn has been reporting that tallon will be keeping both goalies. they have also reported that tampa is shopping smith (formerly dallas' back up) i would prefer him depending on what tampa wants. also, chicago has to unload salary as they are over at about $62M
