Edmonton trades defenseman Joni Pitkanen, a restricted free agent, to Carolina for forward Erik Cole.

Pittsburgh signs Pascal Dupuis to a three-year contract worth $1.4 million per season.

Too bad about loosing Pitkanen, I was kinda hoping he might be headed to LA but with the Lubo deal being done and not being able to package him then I figured he'd be headed elsewhere.....unfortunate.

I respect that Edmonton is being proactive but it seems they are doing things the opposite of the Kings. They are tearing apart their D to add more O. I really enjoyed Vis while he was here but he won't be doing Garon any favors up there. Oh, well, let's see how this plays out during the season. Can't wait to see the Kings play in some 80's revival games. 9-7 on the best sheet of ice? Sweet!
