Finger to Toronto

Toronto has signed defenseman Jeff Finger to a four-year contract worth $3.5 million per season.

$3 mill for Vrbata, who has struggled to hit his potential for virtually his entire career?

$5.25 mill for 22-year-old Mike Green?

And yet trade value has gone down it seems overall.

Zidlicky for a prospect rated a 6.0C at hockeysfuture and a second round pick? I thought Zidlicky had more value than that.

Meanwhile, Dupuis, a solid two-way guy who played on the top line with Sid Crosby is only worth $1.4.

Strange market these days.
