Hurry back Rich!
UFA salaries are out of control... I mean yeah Jeff Finger is good, but $3.5M ?!!
That's an absurd salary for Jeff Finger. But then again, that's Toronto for ya.
Gotta remember this is Toronto they showered money like it grows on trees to the likes of McCabe and Kubina.
I wonder if he got a no-trade?
Seriously, maybe no on is making $13-14 mill per season anymore, but it sure seams like average player salaries have gone up (don't quote me, I have no figures to back that statement up, just a perception).
$3 mill for Vrbata, who has struggled to hit his potential for virtually his entire career?
$5.25 mill for 22-year-old Mike Green?
And yet trade value has gone down it seems overall.
Zidlicky for a prospect rated a 6.0C at hockeysfuture and a second round pick? I thought Zidlicky had more value than that.
Meanwhile, Dupuis, a solid two-way guy who played on the top line with Sid Crosby is only worth $1.4.
Strange market these days.
