This is going to be quick, and it's not going to be addressed again. I have neither the time nor the inclination to sit here moderating comments. Please act like adults. I presume most of you are. If not, fake it. The interaction here is fantastic and 95 percent of the time, it's not a problem. We're all here to talk hockey, right? Use common sense. No personal attacks. Name calling is for children. If you dislike someone's comment, ignore it or refute it like a grown-up. Thank you very much.

Thanks, maybe now we can finally read about hockey and none of this immature jibberash!!

Excellent post.

I would assume this includes using other peoples names in classless ways to make a point (dumbthony).

Again the anthony bashing that takes place here is obsurd.

Is dumbthony's post an example of ironic detachment?

...but he started it! Just kidding.

Lets all support Rich and do as he asks. If this site gets shut down we all lose!

Long overdue. And unfortunately, will probably be ignored by the people to whom it applies. Other blogs post rules. That's another thing Rich you should add just so it's clear and permanent. It's easy to do and the 'adults' here can point to it as a guide instead of trying to police certain individuals.

Rich, for some reason I'm unable to register because the couple times I tried I've never received the confirmation E-mail. Thus, I imagine you have to approve my messages before they're posted. Since they are, I'll take respite in knowing that they're appropriate for your blog. Since I no longer acknowledge certain people on here, I'll assume that everything's okay on your end.

Can we still hate Ducks fans more than some of Anthony and Cristobal's comments?

I agree with you Rich that we all should behave like adults in here and maybe I haven not behaving like an adult all the time. But its hard to stay reasonable with some people(no name said) in here posting bullshit. Looking forward to some more great stuff from you.

Wow, that's embarrassing he had to say that!

I to will attempt to tone things down.

The only name calling I engage in are directed to the players or staff. I.E. Dumabardi, Lord Cammi, Lubocrap, Crawfish, etc...

But I don't engage in name calling those who comment on these threads. NEVER
We need to get over these childish antics.
I'll try to keep my side of the street clean.
I'll do my part because I respect Rich Hammond VERY MUCH.

Thanks Rich for addressing this.

Shakes, take away my right to hate Ducks fans and you take away my freedom!

Okay, bad reference jokes aside, it did need to be said Rich, and honestly I couldn't have imagined it being said more respectfully, eloquently or succinctly.

Though I post like a maniac, I like to think I don't go overboard or get personal, even so, your sincerity has me recounting in my head if I've said anything offensive and I'll certainly be taking consideration not to from here on out as well.

Pat McGroyn said:

I agree with Chris that it's embarassing Rich felt obliged to say this.

And I also agree with Anthony that while its probably OK to poke fun at the players or staff, it is never cool to belittle or slander (actually, I probably should say libel) our fellow bloggers.

It is so obvious that Rich & Don work so hard and put so much time into hosting the BEST website dedicated to one NHL Team. If people are making insulting and derogatory comments here, it forces Rich take time away from his actual research and reporting and it makes Inside The Kings a lesser product for all of us.

GO KINGS GO!!!!

How is asking Anthony to get some perspective equate to name calling?

So I guess that alright then? As Rich pointed out, name calling is for children. Think about it.

I've been guilty a couple of times recently of making derogatory comments directed at other people that I knew wouldn't be posted and they weren't. Sorry Rich!

Maybe, I'm not proposing a rule or anything, comments should be about the blog and not responses to other people's comments. There are other web sites more geared towards people interacting with each other.
