    Quincey looked great until OT. He can play with pace.
    The rookies still look faster than anyone else on the ice.
    Handzus is getting better every game.

    No way does Simmonds get sent back down. He’s more than holding his own, he’s making a difference. Love his energy and then doing something positive with the puck. He’s hitting and not afraid of being hit. Great attitude, too. I love this kid. Tons of potential.

    I’m still in awe of that sprawling save made by LaBarbera on that odd man rush. Handzus patience on the game winner was a thing of beauty.

    Great win by the Kings. These kinds of games do wonders for their confidence. Also, this never would’ve happened with Crawford behind the bench.

    Kings were last at .500 (8-8-1) on November 13, 2007.

    The previous year, they said goodbye to .500 after game 4 (2-2-0).

    The year before that (’05-’06), they were above .500 the entire season, after losing the season opener. At one point they were 30-18-3, finally ending up 42-35-5.

    I was at a bar in the ol’ Garbage Grove tonight, and when I saw Zeus score, I jumped around and screeched like some spider monkey.

    I hate to say this, but I think this team has turned a corner. I have faith in this team and if the battle like they did tonight, it is not realistic to see a playoff berth in this team’s future.

    I’ll be fair to LaBarbara. He made some great saves in the 3rd period and overtime. If the guy would just learn how to control his rebounds!

    Handzus is proving to be a great signing, albeit a year later then we all hoped.

    I think we give Moulson some more time on the first line. It’s only been 4 games. I think he’ll come around.

    I do however think it’s time for Brian Boyle to go to Manchester. He needs to figure out how to use his size and skill to his advantage. He’s not showing signs of doing that so far. He’s way too tentative and lets the play come to him too much.

    I’m hoping coach Murray gives Ersberg a start. Ok. You proved that you think LaBarbara is the #1 guy. Not sure many of the fans agree yet. Now let’s see if Ersberg can play like he did late last year.

    Seriously tho, nice win, especially the way they battled back. These kids aren’t quiters, they’re takers and fun to watch. Agreed Jet, wish I had said that. Quincey’s first game was excellent. His mistakes were mostly positional which will correct themselves as he learns the system. Great pick-up DL! Now you can see why so many teams were interested in his services. Nothing against Harrold but Quincey is a very imposing, stay at home defenseman, exactly what the Kings needed.

    BBTSJ – Right on! Wayne Simmonds looks amazing out there, particularly for a junior. This kid loves to skate, hit and can make the pass. Not a bad shooter, his enthusiasm is contagious and is infecting the entire team. BTW, I’d like to see the shield jersey come back too!

    BTW, how about Doughty? Is is just me or does this kid play the game like he’s been a veteran for years? Gosh you’ve got to like our young Kings. Yes, we have a long ways to go, but everytime one of our young lines hits the ice you can’t help but be cheering for all of them to be successful, not because we’re fans but because they’re so fun to watch. This is going to be a very good tean in the not so distant future. Success is just around the corner for our now .500 Kings.
